The Orange Flame
"We will revive Damian and come right back to Earth with him." I said rolling my eyes. Making my way closer to him, I grabbed his hand. His pulse was warm and welcoming. A feeling I have not experienced in a long time. "Do not let go of my hand." I ordered closing my eyes.
"Alright if you say so, but before we go, is Damian a demon like you, or do I need to find my ugly proof glasses?" Marcus asked gripping my hand.
"Lets just say you will be amazed." I said opening my eyes. Red light covered over our bodies consuming us into a pull to Hell. As we were pulled further, Marcus grabbed my body closer to his. When the red light discovered, we were teleported into my room. Still hugging me, I felt the muscles in Marcus' chest and arms flex. Heat radiated off his body the closer I got to him, and my cheeks began to feel flustered. Snapping back, I pushed myself away from him and adjusted my hair.
Walking towards the window, Marcus saw the fire coming off the rocks, and lava oozing everywhere on the ground. "Well should of worn my flame resistant pants!" Marcus laughed making a crooked grin.
"Do not worry. Not everything is on fire here. Come on. Let us go to where Damian lays." I said walking to the door.
Catching up to my step, Marcus asked, "So will anything attack me?" Reaching for his sword, he seemed ready for a fight.
Making our way through the plain dark hallway, we made it to a flight of stairs. Stepping down each stair, I answered, "As long as you stay close to me everything will be ok."
Pulling the bangs out of his eyes, Marcus joked around saying, "Good! I did not want to get BlueLightning out to kick some demon ass!" Due to the sword's name, I began laughing. Suddenly, I missed a step and began to fall face first. Closing my eyes, I started stretching my arms out to catch my fall, but instead I felt a hand grab my back pulling me backwards. When I opened my ears, Marcus was holding me. His face was a few inches from my facing. The way he held me with one hand made my worries of staying strong disappeared for a split moment. Having the feelings arouse, my heart began to beat faster. Remembering what was going on, I pulled my self away from Marcus and continued our journey down the steps.
After making our way down what felt like thirty steps, we arrived at a black coal door. Pushing it open, we discovered a room full of orange flames on the walls. The orange flames made the black room orange. Lying in the center of the orange room was a body on a stone bed. As we approached the body, Marcus began to gag. Damian was a Grant demon, but his demon from was a dragon. He was the height of a human with the same appearance as one; however, orange scales covered his body. His body was covered by a white gown to make him appear clothed.
"Why do beautiful girls drag me into things?" Marcus asked looking at the body.
"Because trouble like me seems to follow you around." While we got closer to his body, the orange flame in my pocket was glowing brighter. After taking it out of my pocket, I placed the orange crystal on Damian's chest. "Now what do we do?" Marcus asked.
Shooting red flames out of my index ringer on my right hand, I marked Damian's chest. I marked a straight line up and down two times on his chest. With the lines beside each other, I slashed a line through them then placed a dot on the right side. Stopping the flame, I pulled Shadowfire out of its hilt. Placing it on my hand, I pulled the blade over my palm. I moved my bloody palm over the marked symbol and filled it up with my black blood. A orange ray of light burst through the sky. Marcus placed his arm over his eyes to shield the light, but I stood there waiting. The mark I placed on Damian began to disappear. Suddenly, his red eyes opened. Moving his legs, he sat up straight on stone holding the crystal in his right hand.
"That was a nightmare!" he said cracking his neck. "Hello, Princess. Who is this? Dinner?" he asked licking his forked tongue around his face. With a disgusted face, Marcus glared at the lizard boy.
"No, but in a two hours, you shall decide between dark or light. Your room in your castle is the same place where it was last time. Go there, change, and then, meet my father in the throne room." I ordered. Damian rose from the stone bed and walked to the door.
After opening the door, he turned around and said, "Oh by the way Princess, thank you." Then, he left.
"What the hell was he?" Marcus said coming closer to me.
"He is a drogon demon. He is a dragon appear but forms a man's human body and head." I answered moving to the door. "What I did on Damian is what you will do on Rebacca, but now I am tired. Let me go get you some clothes." Staring at his clothes, I noticed dirt smug all over his white shirt.
"Sounds good to me! But where will I be sleeping?" he asked following behind me.
"My room." I answered walking through the door. After making it up the steps, we preceded towards Damian's room. "Wait outside while I get you clothes." I ordered knocking on the door.
"Who is it?" Damian asked.
"It is Michaela. Can I come in?" I said. Hearing the lock on the door twist, I walked into Damian's door shutting it behind me. Damian's room was similar to mine, but his room color and bed sheets were orange. In the corner was a dresser with a dagger in a orange hilt lying on top. Damian had changed out of the white gown and slid on black blue jean pants with white socks on. Even though demons do not care if they wear anything at all, Damian enjoyed wearing human clothes.
"Feels good to be in my body again. Nervona is not a place full of kittens and fire." chuckled Damian as he walked to his dresser. While he talked, I walked to the closet and opened it. "What is with you and the human?"
Looking through his clothes, I did not even know a answer to that. Marcus made me feel emotions I have not felt in a long time. Grabbing a orange shirt, I answered, "Nothing is going on between me and the blue flame." Even though I said that, my heart ached knowing I was lying to my best friend.
Coming up behind me, Damian spoke, "Alright just remember what happens when we love people. I mean look at me. I loved Rebacca. Because I loved her, exorcists saw a chance to destroy me. Be careful." I grabbed a pair of black pants and white socks and closed the door. Turning around, Damian said, "How will we raise Rebacca back?"
"Same as we did you, but Marcus will be performing the spell." I said walking out the door.
Before I shut the door, I heard Damian say, "You got to be joking." Marcus was laying up against the wall when I came out. Pushing his body off of the wall, he grabbed the clothes out of my hand.
"Now if I go into your room and change, will I change into a demon or a angel?" Marcus asked.
Shaking my head, I said, "You might grow angel wings on decision day, but you remember where my room is?" Marcus shook his head up and down, so I continued, "Good. Stay in there and lock the door until I get back from Damian's decision."
"Alright, Ms. Bossy Pants." he said walking down the hall with his hand in the air.
Seeing him walk away, I turned around to begin walking to the throne room. As I walked, I heard a door open behind me, and a voice yell, "Michaela! Wait up!" Stopping, Damian ran up beside me.
"Are you ready?" I asked walking towards the throne room. While we were walking a glanced at Damian, he had put on a orange V-neck shirt that showed off the edges of his muscles.
"I guess. I mean what is there to be ready for. I had a hour to get ready for a decision of my life." Damian answered. As we walked down the hallway, steam started coming through the rocks.
Trying to look through the steam, I said, "I see what you are talking about, but still darkness is all we know." Shaking his head, Damian agreed with me. Being raise in Hell was a curse that brought someone empty ness and pain. The steam began to grow stronger as we got closer to the hallway. Finally, we pasted through the steam into the throne room. Unlike the throne room being full of red flames, the flames on the sides were black and strong. The room stood silent with no one inside, but in the front stood a flight of stairs. On top of the stairs red shards of rock stood out on the back of the chair with my father sitting in the seat. My father had both his hands resting on the arm rests while he tapped his claws on the ends.
"It is time!" my father yelled through the empty room. Damian marched in front of the stairs and kneed down. When he did, a circle of bright white light surrounded a spot in the back of the room. "Damian Lee Timber, today you will decide between dark or light. What do you decide?" my father spoke gripping the resting arm on his chair. The light was slowly hurting my father just as it was me. Backing up into the dark hallway, I was able to still keep a eye on Damian.
"I pronounce my orange flame in the name of the Devil. I choose the side of darkness." Damian said glaring up at my father. The bright light disappeared after hearing Damian choose. Damian placed the orange crystal on one of the red stairs. Standing up, my father shot black flames into the crystal. The flames caused the crystal to turn into a dark orange color. Picking up the now dark orange crystal, Damian crushed it in his hands. Dark orange flames circled around his body. Then, the flames pressed on his body absorbing into his skin. His once orange skin was now covered with dark orange.
"Rise my son and return to your room." father said.
Standing up, Damian responded, "Yes, my lord." While Damian walked towards me, my father glared at me. His mouth curved in a smirk as if he was actually grateful. Damian and I then began walking back to our rooms. The once steam covered hallway was gone, but the hallway returned to its red rock covered state.
"How are you feeling, Damian?" I asked.
"That was better than I thought. I mean I feel strong enough to even take on you." he said laughing.
"Do not get power crazy yet. Once I decide. Then, you can." I said staring down the dark hallway. Making it to Damian's room, he opened the door. Suddenly, Damian grabbed my arm. His grip was stronger than before as he clenched my hand.
"Before you go back to him, remember who you are fighting for." Damian said reminding me of who I was. Yanking my arm away from Damian's grip, I began walking to my room. Remembering what Damian said, I realized just how much I did not know who I was. Seeing my mother die was the day my heart blacken, but now that Marcus has entered my life he has changed my heart. Making it to my door, I hesitated. What if angel wings did come out? He is God's successor, but they should not come out until he decides. Twisting the doorknob, I pushed the door open.
"Great. He did not listen to me" I whispered looking in my room. On the floor laid Marcus' white t-shirt, blue jacket, blue jeans pants, white socks, and black Nike shoes. Glancing on the bed, Marcus laid. Wearing the clothes I gave him, his arms and legs were stretched on my bed. While he was sleeping, I went inside my closet and grabbed a red t-shirt and black pajama booty shorts. I placed the four crystals in the corner of my closet. Taking off my tight shirt, sandals, and blue pants, I grabbed my red t-shirt. Slipping it on, the t-shirt slid on stopping at my hips.
While I was sliding my shorts on, I heard a voice say, "Well that was a beautiful site to see." With his eyes open, Marcus was laying down with his arms behind his head.
"How.. how much did you see?" I asked feeling strange. No guy has ever seen me naked before. A feeling arose inside my stomach making me feel tingly.
"When you were entirely naked and everything after that." Marcus said rubbing his right eye. I felt my cheeks become flustered while I shut the door behind me. Stretching my arms up, my sore wings expanded through out the room.
"Alright. You sleep on that side while I sleep on this side." I said pulling the covers back while I crawled in.
"Uh fine I will." Marcus said sliding over to the left side of the bed. Pulling the cover over me, I closed my wings together and pulled my tail beside my body. Laying down in bed, I realized that life would of been different if I stayed at the monastery. The thought floated in my head before I felt my mind growing black, I fell asleep.
