Losing It
I met Emily at Mocha for lunch. After explaining what happened at the party with Jake, she tried to change the subject."So, who was the mystery guest last night?" Emily asked, taking a sip of her smoothie.
"Which one?" I asked, taking a gulp of my coffee.
She practically spit out her drink, "What? Did you have a party last night?"
I laughed. "Hardly."
"Tell me what happened. Plleeaasseeeee," she begged, her puppy brown eyes pleading with my blue ones.
"Well, I had a friend over-"
"Who?" Emily interuppted.
"You won't believe me, so let me tell you the story before I tell you his name," I said. I waited for her response, but she just motioned for me to go on. "Anyway, we were eating Chinese food when Jake called. Then, as if that wasn't enough, he decided to come over."
Emily scowled. "Can I kill the bastard?"
I let out a snort. "Be my guest," I shook my head. "So, he came over and tried to apologize and explain, but I made him leave."
"Good for you," she said. "So, who's Mystery Boy?"
My heart started racing. "Do you promise not to tell?"
Her excited face fell. "Oh, God, you're not dating a criminal are you?"
I laughed. "Oh yeah, he did time for extreme sexiness."
Her face lit up again. "So he's hot?"
"A solid 10."
"Now, you have to tell me."
I leaned in, and she mirrored my move. I glanced around and whispered, "Harry Styles."
Emily smacked me on the shoulder and shot back in her seat, smiling. "And here I thought you were being serious," She rolled her eyes and mumbled, "Harry Styles, my ass."
"I'm serious, Em!"
"So you expect me to believe that Hary Styles, memeber of the biggest boy band in the world, just happened to be in New York, came over to your apartment last night, and ate Chinese food with you, a normal college girl?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Yes," I drank more of my coffee.
Emily started laughing. "Haha, very funny Laura. Your acting skills have improved. Now tell me the truth."
"The truth about what?" Asked a voice behind me.
I recognized it instantly.
Emily's eyes widened to the size of baseballs. After a few seconds of silence, she said. "Oh. My. God."
