RON'S P.O.V

"Welcome" Dumbledore said with his eyes twinkling over his half-moon glasses "To the very first Hogwarts Karaoke Night!!!" causing the entire population of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to burst out into applause and cheering.

"Each song will be picked by our magical speaker, enchanted to find the perfect song for each individual person." Dumbledore continued. "Now please welcome tonight's MC: Lee Jordan!!!" sparking yet another thunderous roar of applause.

I had to admit that I was starting to regret my choice of signing up. What if I got a stupid song picked like What Does the Fox say or Gangnam Style. I had heard those songs on my father's muggle radio, and really wished I hadn't. Afterwards they were stuck in my head for days!!!

I noticed that Hermione was no longer in the seat next to me. Then I also realized a split second later that she was on the stage, and his brother's friend Lee had picked her name out of the magical cauldron.

"I wonder what she'll get?" I whispered to Harry. "Just listen we'll find out soon enough." Harry whispered back in reply.
"Stop talking you gits!!!" Ginny hissed fiercely, and we quickly stopped chatting.

The opening notes to Hermione's song were played over the magical sound playing devices. She looked like she recognized what the song was, and wasn't very pleased with the music choice.

After a brief intro, she began singing in a clear, strong, beautiful voice.

"I wonder who this song is about?" I thought aloud. Ginny face palmed her forehead in frustration and angrily replied. "You git! It's about YOU Ron! Don't be so thick" Harry nodded his head in agreement. "All of Gryffindor house is placing bets on how long it will take for you two to get together." I was extremely surprised. Hermione liked me? HAPPY DANCE!!! I then asked, "How much did you guys bet?" "Well... I said it would be about a month, I placed 2 galleons on that one." Harry answered. "I bet you two would get together in 2 months, but I only put in a couple sickles." Ginny said.

The entire room burst out in applause. Lee Jordan picked up his microphone and the room quieted down. "Great job Hermione!" Lee said with enthusiasm. "And next we have..." . He then pulled a name from the cauldron. "Hannah Abbott!" Hannah walked up on stage very slowly.

"I think she's going to be sick" Hermione said as Hannah turned a pale shade of green. Hannah picked up the microphone and the opening notes to her song were played.

"She's actually not that bad!" I whispered to Hermione, who was in the seat next to me. "Uh-huh" she said distractedly in reply. "By the way you did great too." I said genuinely. "Really?" she said surprised. "Really." I said with a smile. Hermione smiled back, blushing a bit.

By the end of the song, everyone was clapping along to the beat. (except for a few surly looking Slytherins) So far, Hogwarts Karaoke night was a big success!
