Goodnight Hogwarts
As they feasted, an occasional drop of wax would land on an unfortunate pupil from the floating candles, and they would yelp. And in that way, Rose and Tessa met many friends, and introduced themselves to some of the friendlier teachers that walked by to meet their new students.AND... Not to mention that the food was... Rose thought, Hmm.. There was really no word to describe this scrumptious meal. Pies and soups, stews and salads, pastas and foreign food that only two kids from her home table recognized as an exotic dish from different tropical islands. The Griffindors talked about Quidditch teams, Ravenclaw talked about what they hoped to learn this year, Hufflepuffs talked about their goals, and Slytherins just made nasty comments on the other kids.
"Hey! What's your name? I'm Rose," Rose introduced. She pointed at Tessa. " And this...is my friend Tessa. Hope we can be friends."
The girl nodded. She was a brunette with golden eyes. "Sure. I'm Elizabeth. Call me Bethy. Or just Beth is fine."
Rose smiled.
Just then, a gong, or rather, a bell, rang to signal an end to feasting. Elizabeth rolled her eyes. "Bedtime!"
A tall boy with a scar that ran down his whole left arm waved at Tessa and the friends. They got up and followed him out the Great Hall.
"Welcome to The Ravenclaw Tower!" He pulled over a painting to reveal a hidden door. "This week's password is 'Moon mist' and next week's will be 'Pig farts'. If you want to know the next password, just ask me."
Elizabeth had to bend over, but Tessa and Rose easily climbed through the arch and into the Ravenclaw Common room. Reclining couches lined the wall. As well as suspending book shelves. A mirror lay in the corner. Beth was quick to point it out and ask the boy what the mirror did.
"That? It shows you the next book you should read. Say um.. you have a project coming up on herbology, but you don't know. When you look into the mirror, it will show you a book, say, called 'Herbs and Other Curious Plants of the 21st Century."
He continued to talk and tour them through not only the Tower, but the whole school. He showed them the school rules, the classes, the other common rooms, the Quidditch Field, and so on , and so forth.
