Chapter 9

Daniela hopped into the car with Melissa and her mother. "OMG Melissa! I am so excited! I think this Halloween dance will be fun." exclaimed Daniela jumping up and down into her seat. "Yeah! I can't wait!" Melissa said excitedly. She smiled brightly. "I really like your bear ears." said Daniela looking up at them. "Thanks." said Melissa. She was wearing brown bears ears and three dots on each cheek.

They entered the school. "It feels so weird being at school on a Friday night." Daniela said as a shiver went down her back. "Looks like we got here early." Melissa said as they entered the gym. "Wow, there is only like ten to fifteen people here." said Daniela in amazement. "More people must still entering. How about we see if Hana or Ginger came yet." suggested Melissa. She pulled Daniela's arm and dragged her into the cafeteria. "Ginger! Over here!" shouted Melissa. Ginger Key walked over, waving her hand. Ginger had dirty blond, curly hair. She was wearing a black sweater with light blue jeans and white shoes. "Hey Melissa, hi Daniela." Ginger greeted. "Did anyone else get a shiver when they entered the school?" Daniela's hand quickly shot up, she nodded her head. "Good I am not the only one." giggled Ginger. "So Ginger, where . . . . . ." Melissa's voice started to fade away from Daniela's ears. She was looking around for Hana and Allison. Daniela stared at the entrance. Finally, she saw Allison, Hana, Kimi Ned, Madison Thomason, and Sammy Howard enter the school. Daniela waved at the five of them. They waved back. Daniela happily skipped towards them. "Hey Daniela." said Kimi looking up at Daniela. "Hey." Daniela replied back. "Do you want to join our group?" asked Madison. "Yeah it'll be fun!" added Sammy. Daniela bit her lip. She looked over at Melissa and Ginger, they were just joined with another group. "I don't know . . . . I was going to be with Melissa . . ." Daniela said, unsure what to say. "Aww, please??" begged Allison. "Yeah, Melissa just left to the gym without you. Join our group." pointed out Hana. Daniela turned back around. She looked where Melissa was, she was gone and so was her group. Daniela was shocked. "Umm, I guess I could." shrugged Daniela. "Great!" exclaimed Allison and Hana. They both pulled Daniela's arms and dragged her into the gym. Daniela stared in amazement. The gym was filled with many people who were dancing and talking. "Just a few minutes ago there were . . ." Daniela's voice trailed off as she was pulled by Allison closer and closer to the crowd of people and loud music.
Hana, Madison, Sammy, Allison, and Kimi started to dance. Daniela stood by them awkwardly. "Why aren't you dancing!?" shouted Kimi trying to get her question to Daniela's ears. Daniela shouted back, "I am not much of a dancer!" All of a sudden, Daniela's arms started to move up and down. Daniela turned around. Madison was behind her, trying to control Daniela's arms. "You have to dance!" exclaimed Madison. "Jump!" commanded Allison. Daniela jumped. "Keep jumping!" added Allison. Daniela kept on jumping. She blushed in embarrassment. "Now shake your fist in the air while jumping!" shouted Sammy while demonstrating how. Daniela did as she was told. Soon, she could feel this rush of excitement. "Now you got it!" Hana clapped her hands. Madison, Sammy, Allison, and Hana quickly joined in with Daniela. Daniela felt like an idiot, but she just kept going. She smiled and started to laugh. Everyone else laughed with her.

"I am tired of dancing." yawned Daniela walking back into the cafeteria after jumping around and dancing for an hour. "Yeah me too. Jumping is a lot of exercise." agreed Allison. "Lets sit down." suggested Madison. "Lets." said Hana falling into her chair and slouching. "Hey Daniela." Daniela suddenly felt someone touch her shoulder. She looked up. "Oh hey Tami." Daniela said. Tami Cruz was wearing a long black gown, like a witch's. Her dark brown hair was up and she had some makeup covering up her face. "Guess what I am." asked Tami. "Um I don't know, a scary, creepy person?" guessed Daniela. "Close enough." Tami said plainly. "Can I just steal her for a bit?" asked Tami. "Uh sure I guess. We'll see you later Daniela?" asked Kimi. "I think so." Daniela replied, already being pulled away by Tami. "So what do you need me for?" asked Daniela when they stopped in the hallway. "Oh nothing, I just wanted to hang out with you, that's all." answered Tami, her eyes wandering off. Daniela stared at Tami. "Well I guess I also wanted to show you some new 'friends' I made."Tami added. "Alright, where are they?" asked Daniela. "In the cafeteria." said Tami. "We were just in the cafeteria." Daniela sighed. "Just come on." Tami said grabbing Daniela's arm and walking her back to the cafeteria.
"Hey guys." Tami said creepily. The boys at the table quickly turned around, startled. "Oh my gosh it's Tami!" one of the boys shouted. "You mind if we sit down with you guys?" Tami asked, already pulling up a chair. "No way Tami. Daniela if you want to sit with us you can." said Rick, patting his hand on one of the empty chairs. Daniela smiled a tiny bit, it was the first time anyone has said that to her. Rick had blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue jacket and jeans. Tami frowned. "Come on Daniela." Tami ordered, as she pulled Daniela out the door. They waved bye to Daniela. Daniela shyly waved back. "Those jerks." Tami muttered as they entered the gymnasium. "What was up with them!?" yelled Daniela trying to be heard over the loud music. "Oh it's nothing don't worry about it!" shouted Tami. "Okay!" Daniela replied back. "Lets enter the crowd!" suggested Tami as she pulled Daniela's arm. As Daniela entered the crowd, she suddenly felt the grip on her arm loosen and come off. She quickly pulled her arm back. Daniela rubbed her wrist. Then, she looked around for a way the exit the huge crowd.
A hand soon popped out in front of Daniela. It came from a small opening in the crowd. She was confused. "Grab my hand!" she heard someone yell as the hand went up and down. Not knowing what to do, Daniela grabbed the hand. She was quickly pulled out of the crowd and into a boy. Daniela looked up. "Hey Dani." he said. Daniela quickly pulled away, startled. "What's wrong?" he asked confused. "Louis, I didn't know that you were here." Daniela said. "Am I not allowed to be here?" Louis asked offendedly. "No, I didn't mean that . . . ." replied Daniela awkwardly blushing. Louis smiled. "Did you come here alone?" asked Daniela as they both walked out into the hallway. "No, I actually came with Frank. Soon after we came here he disappeared." Louis said looking around. "I think he'll show up sometime." "Oh ok." Daniela replied. "So . . . . what do you want to do?" Louis asked. "Um, I don't really know. So far I am being pulled away by different people." Daniela told Louis.
"Louis!" They turned around. Frank rushed over to the both of them. "Frank, where were you? I was looking all over for you." scolded Louis. "I'm sorry, Aaron pulled me over to come to his group. I finally had a chance to sneak out." apologized Frank. Louis sighed. Frank then saw Daniela slowly move away. "Oh, Daniela. I didn't mean to interrupt anything." apologized Frank as he motioned Daniela to come back. Daniela started to walk back towards Louis and Frank. Three boys started to run out of the cafeteria. BAM! Daniela fell on the ground as the boys kept running. "Oww . . ." moaned Daniela as she put her hands to her head. Frank and Louis quickly ran over to Daniela. "Daniela! Are you ok?" asked Frank. Louis and him helped Daniela up. "I am alright." said Daniela smiling. "I think I just need a drink from the water fountain." Daniela said as she started to walk away. Louis and Frank watched as she started to leave. Daniela's head started to go in circles. All of a sudden, she fell down again. Frank and Louis rushed over and helped her up again. "How about we go to the cafeteria?" suggested Louis. "Seems like a good idea." agreed Frank. The two of them walked Daniela over to one of the empty tables. They sat down at the table. "Looks like the puppy needs to rest for a little bit." laughed Frank. Daniela rested her head in her arms. She sighed. Louis stared at Daniela. She soon noticed and started to blush.
"Daniela! How's it going girl?" Daniela recognized that voice. "Hey Alexia." sighed Daniela as she buried her face deeper in her arms. Alexia looked over at Louis and Frank. "What did you idiots do to her?" Alexia asked to Frank and Louis giving them a serious face. Frank lifted his hands close to the upper part of his arms. "Whoa Alexia, we didn't do anything her." said Frank, starting to get up out of his seat to move back. "Why would we try to hurt Dani." asked Louis. "Then what the hell happened to her?" asked Alexia, her tone becoming more serious. "As she was walking towards us, three boys were running and crashed into her. Then they just kept running without saying sorry. So we helped her up and took her here." explained Frank. Daniela nodded her head slowly. "Her head hurts, thats why she is acting this way." added Louis. "I am going to have to kill somebody . . . ." Alexia said as she slowly walked away. "If the police comes, we were never involved with this." Frank said, sitting back down in his seat. "That's for sure." Louis nodded.

"Man, what time is it?" asked Louis. Frank checked his watch. "It's now eight-fifty five ." he replied. "Already? Only like five more minutes of the dance." complained Louis. "Time goes by fast when you’re having fun." sighed Frank. Daniela stood up. "I have to go. I need to find Melissa before the dance ends." Daniela said as she started to walk away. "Wait, do you want us to walk with you?"
asked Frank getting up. "Leave her be. We need to leave soon." Louis said as he got up as well. "I think I'll be fine." waved Daniela and she rushed into the hallway and headed to the gym. She entered the gymnasium and wandered around looking for Melissa. The music suddenly stopped and the principal's voice boomed through the school. "Everyone enter the gymnasium and wait for your parent or guardian to find you and take you home. Anyone who walked here may leave the school now." Daniela soon spotted Melissa. She quickly rushed over to her. Melissa waved to her father. He came over and walked both Melissa and Daniela to the car. They climbed into the car and drove off. Soon they were at Daniela's house. Daniela hopped out of the van. She waved goodbye to Melissa as her father and her left. Daniela walked over to the door and opened it.
          "Hello my dear family! I am back!" announced Daniela. "So you’re back from that freak show dance. How nice." said Drake plainly, his eyes still on the television. Daniela frowned. "Hey weirdo." she said. "Hey crazy." Drake shot back. Daniela stuck her tongue at Drake. He did the same. "Not this again . . . ." sighed Daniela's baby sister, Zoey, as she slapped her forehead. "I know right!?" agreed Daniela's other sister, Yasmin, as she shook her head. "Why can't you guys get along?" Daniela's mother asked as she exited the kitchen."Ha! Don't make me laugh." Daniela said as she glared at Drake. "You wanna hear a joke?" Yasmin asked Daniela. "No, why would I want to hear a joke? What does this have to do with what what's going on right now?" Daniela asked baffled. "I learned this at school, just listen. What are twins favorite fruit?" Yasmin asked. "I don't know what?" Daniela asked, deciding to play along. "A pear!" Yasmin answered excitedly. Daniela's mother laughed. Daniela, Drake, and Zoey didn't laugh. She gave her sister a confused look. "You know what? I'm just gonna go to bed, I have a headache." Daniela sighed. "I just can't deal with this right now." Daniela left the living room and walked to her room. Yasmin shrugged. "Who wants to hear another one?" Yasmin asked. "Noo!" Zoey yelled as she covered her ears and ran to her room as well.
