Chapter 19

Daniela walked with Felix to the ice cream parlor. "I'm so happy!" Daniela exclaimed as Felix and her held hands and walked closer to the parlor. "I'm glad you're happy." Felix said sweetly. Daniela blushed. They both crossed the street and walked to one of the empty tables outside the ice cream parlor. "Wow, it's pretty hot for it to be April, but May is coming soon so it'll get hotter." sighed Daniela. Felix sighed as well. "Yeah."
"Hey!" Daniela and Felix looked up. Frank waved his hand to Felix and Daniela. Louis stood by Frank, smiling. Daniela raised an eyebrow at Louis then frowned. Felix and Daniela waved back at Frank. Frank and Louis sat with the couple. "So what's up you guys?" Louis asked keeping his focus on Daniela. Daniela looked at Louis then quickly looked away. That idiot, why is he here? Thought Daniela angrily. Daniela ignored Louis' question and looked over at Frank. "So what brings you here Frank?" Daniela asked happily. "Oh Louis and I just decide to get some ice cream, 'cause you know, it's pretty hot out today." Frank replied.
Daniela nodded, "Yeah I was just talking about the heat a minute ago. It's a coincidence that we all decide to come to the same place at the same time." Frank and Louis looked at each other, afraid that Daniela would catch up on their secret plan. "Oh yeah such a coincidence!" Louis spoke up, laughing awkwardly. "Right." Felix agreed, suspicious of Frank and Louis. "Daniela you wanna go order your ice cream now? I'm ready." Felix asked Daniela, as he got up from the table. "Yeah, let's go." said Daniela happily. Louis leaned over to Frank. "You know what to do know, right?" Louis whispered. "Yeah." Frank whispered back. Before Daniela could leave her seat, Frank quickly shot up. "You know what, how about you and I Felix, just get the ice cream for all of us. Vanilla right Louis?" Frank suggested. "Yeah." Louis replied. "Okay but -" "Daniela what do you want?" Frank interrupted Felix. "Um cookie dough." Daniela replied. "Alright come on Felix." said Frank. Frank dragged Felix to the long line of people.
Louis and Daniela sat at the table awkwardly. Daniela waited impatiently for Felix or Frank to come back. The line was long and it seemed forever until it was going to move. "So how's life Dani?" Louis finally spoke up. Daniela blushed. Ugh! Why am I blushing?? I hate that guy, especially after what he did to me, Daniela thought furiously. She took a deep breath and looked directly into Louis' eyes. "It's alright. A couple ups and downs, but I managed to keep a smile on my face," Daniela smiled. "How about you?" Louis cleared his throat. "Um a couple of downs came along recently, but am going to try to fix them." Louis smirked. Daniela raised an eyebrow, then smiled. "Well, I hope you try your best." "I will." Louis smiled brightly.
They both kept silent for a moment until Daniela spoke up. "I have a question to ask you," Daniela told Louis. Louis looked into Daniela's eyes closely. "Oh yeah, and what's that?" Louis asked. Daniela took a shaky deep breath. "Um I have been wondering about this for a while now. Why did you break up with me?" Daniela asked. Louis sighed. "Look I'm sorry Dani for not telling you, but I had my reasons. And right now, it's not the best time. I'll tell you when I'm ready." Louis said calmly. "How long?" Daniela asked softly. "What?" Louis asked. Daniela quickly got up and slammed her hands on the table. "How long 'till you'll be able to tell me? Days? Months? Years?? It's been four months too many Louis! And now you're talking to me like nothing happened! You have been avoiding me, not speaking to me, and ignoring me! I'm tired of it! What's up with you? I don't understand!" Daniela yelled.
Louis' eyes widened. Everyone around stared at the both of them, wondering what all the commotion was. Louis was shocked, he stuttered as he tried to speak. "I'm . . . I'm sorry, I -" "No I'm sorry," Daniela sighed as she fell back down on the bench. "I just blew up in anger. I feel so bad, I have never done this to anyone." Daniela covered her face.
Louis lowered his eyes and made a sweet but sad smile. He got up and moved over to where Daniela was sitting. He sat close next to her and put his arm around her shoulders. "No, I'm truly sorry. I wasn't considering your feelings." Louis apologized. Daniela uncovered her face and looked over at Louis. "I should've just told you face to face, not over text, that was stupid of me. I must've hurt you pretty bad, didn't I?" Louis sighed. Daniela slapped Louis softly on the shoulder. Louis laughed. "Of course you did." said Daniela, trying to avoid eye contact. Louis smiled. He grabbed Daniela's shoulder and turned her to face his way. Louis lifted her chin. Daniela looked directly at Louis, afraid of what he was going to do next.
Louis opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted. "Hey!" Felix shouted angrily. Both Frank and Felix exited the parlor, ice cream in their hands. Felix ran to the table and slammed the cups with ice cream on the table. Frank ran after Felix and placed the cups carefully on the table. "Frank I told you -" "I know but Felix looked through the window before you could finish." Frank interrupted Louis. "I'm sorry." "No don't be sorry. I got a lot done." Louis told Frank. "Got what done?" Daniela asked suspiciously. "It's nothing." Louis replied. "Let go of her." Felix demanded. Louis looked back at Daniela, he didn't notice he was still touching her. Louis let go and hopped off the seat. He grabbed his ice cream from the table and started eating it and then started to walk away. "Come on Frank, we're leaving." Louis said as he gestured his hand for Frank to come along with him. Frank sighed. "Bye Felix, bye Daniela." Frank smiled. "You're leaving so soon?" Daniela asked sadly. Frank picked up is ice cream and started to walk away as well. "I guess. I'll talk to you on Monday. Bye." Frank waved bye. Daniela and Felix waved back. Daniela noticed Louis turn his head. He looked over at Daniela and winked. Daniela blushed.
When Frank and Louis were out of Felix and Daniela's sight, Felix quickly turned around and examined Daniela. "What are you doing Felix?" Daniela asked, confused. "I'm just checking if Louis left any marks on you. Did he do anything to you?" Felix asked. "No not really." Daniela answered. Felix quickly wrapped his arms around Daniela. "Thank God." whispered Felix in relief. "Don't worry," Daniela smiled. "I don't think he would've done anything to me." Felix let go of Daniela and looked at her seriously. "It doesn't matter, I'm your boyfriend and I'll always be protective of you." Felix said. Daniela blushed. "Well, I just don't want you to be worried sick when something happens. I'll be alright." Daniela replied. Felix smiled, "Yeah I know. But don't blame me if I do." Daniela laughed. "Of course." Felix smiled and kissed her on the cheek. They finished up their ice cream and left.

"Daniela come sit with us." Kate called to Daniela. Daniela turned her head and faced Kate. "Yeah Daniela, come on." Frank added. Frank had his arm on Kate's hip. They sat close together like they always do. There are so perfect for each other, if only I could find that. I mean, I have Felix but its only been a week since we started going out. I still have to see how our relationship turns out, thought Daniela. She sighed, then smiled and got up.
It was Monday. They were in health. Frank pulled up a chair for Daniela to sit in. Daniela sat in front of Kate and Frank. She stared at Frank. Frank notice and just waited for Daniela to stop staring. "What?" Frank finally asked. "What was up with Louis on Saturday?" Daniela asked. "What do you mean?" Frank inquired. "Four months, no communication. Then all of a sudden he starts talking to me and hugs me. And I had a hunch that he was about to kiss me. What happened to him?" Daniela replied. Frank shrugged. "That's Louis for you, you never know what he'll do." Frank sighed. "What are you two talking about?" Kate asked, who was watching them go back and forth. "Ah, it's just something. Don't worry about it." Frank assured Kate. Kate pouted. "Why won't you tell me?" Kate inquired. Frank hugged Kate tightly. "Aw, don't be mad. I love you." Frank whispered in her ear. Kate blushed and smiled. "I love you too." Kate whispered back. Frank kissed her lightly on the cheek.
Daniela looked away. It was too much for her to take. She was already blushing hard from watching it all. Frank turned back to Daniela. He poked Daniela's side. She jumped and turned back and looked. Frank and Kate laughed at Daniela. Daniela blushed in embarrassment. "So are you and Felix going out again this weekend?" Frank asked. "Um I don't know." Daniela replied. "He hasn't said anything about another date." "Hmm, is that so?" said Frank. "Yeah." Daniela answered. Daniela's tummy grumbled. "Arg! What time is it?" Daniela asked. Kate checked the time on her laptop. "It's 10:54 a.m." Kate answered. "Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m." Daniela said. "Then that means an hour and fourteen minutes until lunch." Frank added. "Also the bell is gonna ring in a sec." said Kate. She hibernated her laptop and Frank shut down his.
The bell rang and Daniela left the classroom. She went to her locker and quickly opened it and gathered her stuff for fifth period. As she closed her locker she saw as Louis walking towards his locker. Daniela quickly left and ran up the stairs.
Soon, it was time for lunch. Daniela walked down the stairs and through the hallway with Allison. They entered the cafeteria. As Daniela and Allison walked to their table, Daniela was hugged from behind her. She looked up. It was Felix. "Hey Felix." Daniela smiled. "Hi." Felix greeted back and he pecked Daniela on the cheek. She blushed. "You can go without me, I'll be there soon." Daniela told Allison, who was waiting for Daniela. Allison nodded and kept on walking. Felix still hung on to Daniela. "Felix, people are watching." Daniela whispered. She looked around and saw faces staring at Felix and her. "It doesn't matter." Felix smirked. He squeezed her tighter. Daniela's face turned red.
Daniela suddenly noticed from the corner of her eye, someone staring straight at her. She turned her head. Daniela saw Louis and they both made eye contact. Daniela's face turned redder and she quickly turned head away. Louis smiled and laughed. Felix let go of Daniela. He saw what had happened. "Have a good lunch." Felix said depressingly. Daniela watched as Felix left back to his own lunch table. Daniela stood there baffled. She shrugged and walk to her table.
Later on, Daniela sat at her desk in science repeat. They were working on different educational activities on the laptops. "Daniela." she heard someone whisper. Daniela looked up. Frank motioned his hand for Daniela to walk over to him. He was sitting with Louis. Daniela sighed and walked over to Frank. "Yeah?" Daniela asked. "Come sit with us." Frank replied. Daniela smiled at his offer and she gathered her things and sat in front of Frank and Louis at one of the lab tables. "So what's up Dani?" Louis asked as she finally settled down. "Um nothing much." Daniela replied. Louis nodded slowly. Frank took out his hallway pass and gave it to Mrs. Bore. She signed it and he left to go to the bathroom. "Hey Louis, are you almost ready to tell me?" Daniela inquired. "Do you really want to know? You're not gonna freak out on me again?" Louis asked. Daniela groaned. "I am so sorry about Saturday. I did not mean to do that, I guess I just couldn't hold it in forever. And yes, I really want to know." Daniela apologized.
Louis sighed. He took his stool and placed it next to Daniela's stool. He sat on it, leaned over to her and whispered in her ear. "I was really worried, about you. Since the day you feel on the concrete and your knees bled, to the day Felix punched you and you were knocked out. I was worried sick, and I was sad. This rage came upon me when Felix kissed you on the cheek. And how I found out that he gave you that necklace," Louis pointed at the necklace that was hanging from Daniela's neck. "There was just too many things. I couldn't believe it. Me being totally in love with you, it was happiness but also pain." Louis explained. Daniela's eyelids lowered. She looked at him. Louis looked away. "I guess I had no choice but to break up with you." Louis added.
Daniela sighed. "You must think I'm stupid or something for making that decision, but it was the only thing I could think of doing. I'm sorry." Louis apologized. Daniela smirked. "I don't think your stupid, yet your decision wasn't the brightest idea. You could've talked to me about. And I had no idea you were going through that, you really should've told me. Also, I was going through pain and confusion too." Daniela explained. Louis looked over at her, ready to hear her story. She took a deep breath. "Being fought between two boys, I don't like it. It makes me confused of what to do and who to choose. To tell the truth Louis, I had a crush on Felix long before I had a crush on you, and it stuck to me for a while, until I met you. My crush on you grew outstandingly. So I ended up being totally in love with you," Daniela confessed, shyly. Louis blushed, but he looked away so Daniela couldn't see. "and then you asked me out. I became the happiest girl alive. I didn't think things were gonna turn bad for me, but I was wrong. I got hurt, Felix gave me this necklace and confessed to me, Felix and you started to fight and I was the one who ended up getting hurt the most. But at that time I didn't want either of you to get hurt badly, especially you. And then the last thing that hurt me, or that killed me inside, was when you broke up with me. It shattered me into pieces. Weeks after that, I was confused but then up I finally asked myself. Love or hate? Should I love you or hate you? I didn't know. But soon, I choose hate, but I guess it wouldn't stick to me forever." Daniela continued. Louis' eyes widened.
"You were really left with that decision? Love or hate?" Louis groaned. "I can't believe it." "Yup." Daniela nodded. "Wait, why did you go out with Felix?" Louis asked. Daniela sighed, "I went out with him because I also had a crush on him, but not as big as the one I had one you. Also, Frank told me that it was a great opportunity for me to get my mind off you, and I also maybe happier." Daniela replied. "That guy." muttered Louis. "What's wrong?" Daniela asked, she tilted her head. Louis sighed. "Dani, I need to tell you something, and I don't want you to feel confused or upset and I'm sorry if it does." Louis told Daniela. Daniela was confused. "What is it that you need to tell me?" Daniela asked. "I'm still in love with you." Louis said quietly. He blushed a little.
Daniela's face turned bright red and hot. Her heart started to beat quickly. "Um okay." Daniela managed to say. "I made a mistake to break up with you, ignore you, not talk to you, and avoid you. And I hope you're not angry at me and that you haven't really lost your feelings for me." Louis' face became redder as he spoke. "I'm sorry." Daniela covered her face. She didn't want Louis to see her face. "I don't know what to say." muttered Daniela. "What?" asked Louis, unsure of what she said. At that moment, Frank entered the classroom and sat back down on his stool. He looked at both Daniela and Louis. "Louis, why are you sitting over there?" Frank inquired. Louis got up and plopped his stool next to Frank's and sat down. "No reason." Louis' voice cracked. "Why were you gone so long?" Louis asked Frank. "Oh I bumped into Aaron on the way back here, and we kept talking." replied Frank. "I have another question to ask you guys. Why are your faces so red?" Frank asked. Louis and Daniela's eyes widened and they both looked at each other. "Nothing important." they both said.
