Chapter 1
"Daniela!!! Wake up! You wouldn't want to miss the first day of school with your older brother that you, oh, love so very much?" Drake Luis yelled. "Why would I ever? Don't get too full of yourself Drake," Daniela Luis said plainly, just getting up from bed. Drake wore a plaid blue shirt with jeans, his hair black and wavy as usual. "Look at you with your bed hair," Drake smirked. Daniela glared back at him. "Ha, just because you make that face doesn't mean it will change anything. Now, get ready for school, we leave in an hour," Drake ordered as he pointed a finger at Daniela. "Fine." Daniela mumbled, she wasn't ready to go back to school again. Daniela turned the shower knob, undressed, and got in the warm, soothing running water. "Ah, this feels good. This might wake me up better," assured Daniela. As she got out of the shower and put on her towel, she stared at herself in the mirror. "Lets see if I can have my hair down today," Daniela sighed. "My hair just gets too frizzy." She got out and went to go get dressed. "Daniela! Time to eat!" shouted Daniela's mother. "Coming!" Daniela shouted back.Daniela dressed in her dark blue striped shirt with her favorite blue jeans. Her hair down, was dark brown and wavy. "Come on, hurry and eat, the bus will be here in ten minutes. Daniela, you look beautiful today," her mother announced. "She is probably trying to impress the boys when she gets to school," sneered Drake getting his toast. "Oh be quiet you. Why do you always have to annoy me? Sheesh!" snapped Daniela as she started to eat her oatmeal. Drake stuck his tongue at Daniela, Daniela then did the same. "Oh will you two stop fighting, the bus will be here in 5 minutes," proclaimed their mother. "Oh well, I had enough of this, I am leaving," Drake said as he was already putting on his shoes. "I guess I'll leave too," said Daniela and she got up and left the table.
Daniela walked over to the bus stop. She then noticed her best friend, Melissa Sanders. She wore a black and white jacket with skinny jeans and black shoe slippers. Daniela ran up to her friend, they hugged and smiled for they were excited to see each other. "I haven't seen you in a long time. Last time I saw you was at my slumber party," Daniela said joyfully. "Yeah, it's been awhile. I honestly admire your hair, it's been long since the last time I seen it down." Melissa grinned. The bus arrived at that moment. "Thanks. Come on let's get on!" exclaimed Daniela. They both got on and sat down. "Are you nervous for our first day of middle school?" asked Melissa. "Now that you made me think about, yes," Daniela said shaking a bit. They both laughed. "Oh yeah," Daniela said as she started looking through her bag, "What's your schedule, lets see if we have any classes together." "Alright." Daniela looked over both her and Melissa's schedule for the school year. "We don't have any classes together," moaned Daniela. "Ugh, yeah that sucks. At least we are on the same bus," said Melissa. "Yeah, I guess," replied Daniela.
Melissa and Daniela both entered the middle school. They walked through the hallway. Daniela looked all around in amazement, it was much different from the intermediate school. Soon, Melissa found her other friends and went over to join them, Daniela couldn't find her other friends so she decided to join Melissa. The bell rung and it was time to get to class. Daniela found her locker and tried to open it with her combination. It wouldn't open. She tried several times to try to open her locker. "Why won't this work!" Daniela muttered, "I am going to be late" Daniela didn't have a locker before, so she was really new to this. She finally gave up and looked at her schedule. "My homeroom is P.E., another problem now is that I don't know where the gymnasium is," Daniela whispered to herself disappointed. Daniela looked around the hallway to find someone to give her directions. Then she heard a voice behind her. "Oh, hey Daniela! I like your hair. What are you looking for?" Surprised, Daniela quickly turned around, and saw her friend from last year, Hana Simon. Hana had golden blonde hair, blue eyes, skinny jeans, pink shirt, and gray boots. "Hana! You startled me there, I have a question, do you know where the gym is?" asked Daniela. Hana stared at her, hoping for a "hello" back, but she answered her question anyway. "You can follow me, my homeroom is P.E. as well." Daniela gladly followed Hana to class.

It was a long day for Daniela, she didn't know where most of her classes were and she still hadn't figured out how to open her locker. Tired, Daniela got off the bus and slowly walked home. The 7th graders like Daniela didn't actually have class. Instead they did activities, so Daniela didn't get to meet her actual classmates in all of her classes. "I really hope tomorrow is going to be a normal day, like it should be, but I don't know," Daniela sighed.
