Waiting a moon
"Being in camp for a moon isn't to bad, plus you have all the rest you want" Wind tried to cheer up Star, but she seemed like a sad statue, who didn't listen. "Star cheer up, you'll be able to hang out with Shadow" Wind sighed, and turned away. Star turned towards the wall of the den, not wanting to do anything."Star want to play?" Shadow poked his head in the den," I need to play before all I do is work". "Shadow..." Star stopped herself from saying no, "sure".
"Come on! First up, catch the butterfly" Shadow bounced out of den, Star padding after the kit. Shadow led her to a part in camp where she had never been, it was swarming with moths and butterflies.
"If you catch a moth, you lose a point, if you catch a butterfly you earn a point" Shadow explained. Star nodded, the game sounded like her early kitten days, fun and challenging.
As they played the game, Star felt thrill, thrill that she hadn't felt in a long time. She laughed, and joked, every moment of the game was exciting. Excitement, another feeling she hadn't felt in a while. Letting excitement flood through her, Star played every game Shadow asked her to play.
'Hmm, maybe waiting a moon isn't so bad after all' thought Star as she snuggled down for sleep, 'maybe I'll have my kitten days again'.
