The Visitor
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" she asked sternly, yet shaky of nervousness. "If you must know, I'm Christian Jones, from the wind magic clan." he said in a normal voice, as if talking to a friend. "Wait, did you say wind magic clan? As in the wind dragon?" she asked gripping her sword tighter in fear. "Yeah, guess you could say that. And you're from the fire magic clan?" he asked, already aware of the answer. "The what?" she said, loosening her grip slightly. "So you don't know? They never told you?" he asked, slightly amused at her reaction. "They never told me what?" she asked ever so curiously. "The Fisher family is a family of fire magic users." he told her. "Of what?" she asked curiously. "Fire magic users, you can control fire and avoid the burning flames." he said. "Why should I even believe you?" she asked. "Don't, I don't care. I was just sent here to be your bodyguard." he said calmly and quietly. "Bodyguard?" she said confusingly. "Yeah, I was sent by the Jones family, to help you to protect Fire Crescent." he said. "Why?" she asked. "Don't ask me." Christian said carelessly. "I don't need your help, you can go home." she said, and walked inside. He followed. "Er, I don't need your protection." she said once again annoyed. "Like I said, I have to help you protect the village." he said. She walked back outside, he followed. They were now walking in the forest towards the town. It was silent. To make conversation, she finally asked "So you said when we first met, something about fire magic, how does one use fire magic?" "Well" he began "People with powers get them at different times, once you get your powers, you'll automatically know how to use it." he said. "Really, so you're saying I haven't received my powers yet?" she asked slightly curious. "Yup" he said carelessly. "And you have?" she asked, already sure of the answer. "Yup" he said once again. "So what are your powers?" she asked quietly. "I can cut through anything with wind currents, fly, create force fields with wind, and anything average wind can do" he said dully. After a while, they walked back to her house. They slowly walked inside. "Uh, what's your face, you can go home now, not that you ever didn't." she said annoyed. "Can't" he simply said. There was a long silence. "Fine, if you insist on being a creepy stalker, you can sleep on the couch" she shoved a stack of blankets in his hands and gestured towards the light green couch in the corner. He walked over there "Wait, how long are you planning on stalking me?" she asked slightly joking. "Well, let's see, I was hired to help you protect the town, which you'll always be doing, so consider me your permanent bodyguard" he said amused. "Wait, PERMANENT?!" she said unbelievably. "Yup" he said once again, in the same annoying tone. It went silent then she asked "What about school?" "I'll be attending there." he said trying not to smile. "Wha- Wha- What?!" she reacted. "Yup, just got transferred." he replied. It went silent. Avery, now more annoyed than ever, turned off the light to the night stand thinking 'Ive never hated someone so quickly before'
