~What do you think so far guys? Thanks so much to all my fans and the people that have commented on my stories, you make me smile!~*Katherine returned home, it's now 6 o clock but the sky is still light outside*
"Anymore mash?" Mum asks me nervously. After the little outburst, everyone left, except for mum, dad, lea and cousin Teresa. (18 yrs. old) She's made my favourite dinner, steaming hot mash potato with toad in a hole. It's a nice change from takeaways. "No, thanks mum!" I barely look at Lea as I bite into a soft sausage. Dad pats me on the back, "You look like you haven't eaten in months!" I chuckle, "I'll take that as a compliment" Mum gently slaps dad's shoulder, "How tactful are you? Honey that isn't a compliment, you need some meat into you!" It feels so good to have her fussing over me. I didn't realise how much I'd missed that. "If I stay here long enough I'll be bloated!" Mum and dad laugh.
Lea remains quiet, and Cousin Teresa is shooting me daggers, she hates it when their are people prettier than her on the table. Slowly, they both excuse the table and go up the stairs together, arm in arm. I had dismissed the subject of my room, but now I needed to know something. "What happened to my room? It look's like Barbie land!" Sheepishly, my parents stare at their plates. "Ah...Cousin Teresa-" "Well you see Cousin Teresa-" Heaving a sigh, I roll my eyes, "Ahem, one at a time?"
Dad clears his throat and starts wringing his wrists, "Cousin Teresa's mum, aunt Mirabella, well she fell sick, and we all know her husband vanished when Teresa was young, so she had to camp here." Anger boils inside me, I stand up, "WHY MY ROOM? WHY NOT THAT BITCHE'S LEA? DID YOU WANT TO ACT LIKE I DIDN'T EXIST!" Tears swim in my eyes as they both turn to hug me. Mum covers her eyes, "I'm so sorry, but you know Lea, she wouldn't budge and-"
Hasn't that bitch done enough to me? Fuming, I stomp my way upstairs and charge into her room. She stares at me with shocked eyes and Cousin Teresa smirks. "Sorry you weren't invited-" I put a finger up to her. "Shut up refugee, don't forget this aint ur home!" Teresa gasps, "What did you say?" "THE TRUTH, CAN'T FACE IT!" Geez, I must look like a madwoman. I turn my attention to Lea, who's eyes are brimming with tears. "Haven't you done enough to me?" My voice catches in my throat. I just want to kill her. She cries, "Why won't you let me explain? Why? And theirs no point anyway, Goerge loves you, not me!" If he would, he would never break me like that.
I can't deal with all this drama. Shaking, I pick up my suitcase. Dad runs after me, "Wait-Hon-what are you doing?" "I can't face all the drama here. It's way too painful." Dad grips my wrist. His voice is etched with pain, "I've lost you once, trust me, I can't lose you again."
That's how he persuades me to stay. But when he utters his second words, it catches me off-guard. "That's it, we can't deal with this alone, we're going on the Jeremy Kyle show."
