"The Fullmoon Hotel"

It started like any ordinary day. I was at home watching a ghost movie. I had always been interested in the paranormal and had always wanted to go to a haunted place.
I had gotten a text from my friend, Taylor. We had a plan to go on vacation together as friends. She said to meet her by the Walmart in 20 minutes. So I got in my car and drove to Walmart. We lived in a small town called Celina, Ohio.
***
I pulled up to Walmart and Taylor was there standing in front of the store. She had long red hair and had on a long sleeve black shirt and jeans. I had a red Tshirt, jeans, and black shoes. I had glasses on and brown hair.
Taylor got in the passenger seat with a smile on her face. We had graduated High school, or as I like to call it, Hell School... We had our luggage in the trunk already and it was time to celebrate.
"Ok, Taylor," I said. "Are you ready?"
"Hell yeah," Taylor replied. "And I did some research on the hotel, and found nothing on any site."
"Oh well," I told her. "Lets get rolling, its a long drive from here to Chicago."
So we took off. Headed for the windy city.
***
We drove for eight and a half hours and finally made it to Chicago. We were going to the "Fullmoon Hotel." We pulled up to the hotel and got our luggage out of the trunk. We then went inside to the front desk.
"Are you two checking in?" the desk woman asked.
"Yes," I said. "We were reserved for room 307."
The woman pulled a key off the wall and handed it to me.
"Enjoy your stay," She said.
"Thank you," I replied.
We went up to the third floor where our room was. The hotel was very big and a little bit of a creepy. Our room was nice, it had two beds, a bathroom,  a small fridge filled with soda, juice, and snacks... and a Tv with cable and a DVD/VCR combo.
"Lets turn in for tonight," I said. "Its already eleven and we are both tired."
"Tell me about it," Taylor laughed.
We went ahead and went to bed... but we had no idea how little sleep we would get the next five days.

As a reader, this is good, but it seems rushed, and I think it should have more "emotion" and "Feeling" to give the reader chills down their spine and have them scared. This is suppose to be a paranormal story, have your readers a little scared to give the goosebumps, but other than that I think you should put more emotion in it, but overall, it's good.

I like how the paranormal doesnt all happen at once... are you going to like, have it build up as the story goes?
