My Prince (part 3-Rapunzel)

No!”
“Oh, please, love!”
“No, Loki!” I cried “You’ll do something to get yourself hurt! Or worse!” He set the movie down on the counter and crossed his arms in a pout.
“I won’t get hurt.” He grumbled.
“Do you not remember the dragon?!”
“I don’t remember getting myself injured.”
“You were covered in cuts and bruises!”
“A minor detail.”
“AUG!” I groaned, putting my face in my hands “Loki, I don’t want you getting hurt for me.”
“But–”
“No!” I interrupted “I understand that you’re trying to imitate the princes to–”
“Listen, love,” He interrupted me “you have nothing to be worried about. My well-being shouldn’t be a concern of yours.”
“But it is!”
“Oh, love,” He cooed, kissing me on the head “you don’t need to worry about me. I do these little things–”
“Little!?”
“–because no matter how much you fuss and worry over me, I know you enjoy them.” I crossed my arms and glared at the floor. I couldn’t argue with that.
“That doesn’t mean I want you to try and kill yourself.” I grumbled.
“I’m not.” He said “I’m simply saving the princess.”
“I’m not a princess, Loki.” I sighed.
“Of course you are.” He said with a laugh “Now, it’s my turn to pick the movie and I choose this one.” He picked up the case that read ‘Tangled’ across the cover.
“You know, you can be a stubborn ass when the occasion suits you.” I said.
“Do I get popcorn if I say I already knew that?” He replied with a grin.

“Hmm…” Loki hummed, playfully tugging a strand of my hair.
“If you somehow make my hair longer, I will strangle you with it.” I warned, brushing his hand away. He laughed, then leaned over to reach a few more vanilla smelling flowers. We were leaning up against a tree I had never learned how to pronounce properly in the garden. He was weaving the small, white flowers into my hair while I read the Rapunzel story to him out of my book of Fairy Tales.
“The two are very different…” He mused when I had finished “I see why you like the stories better.”
“Why?”
“The prince falls out of the tower and gets his eyes gouged out.” I hit him with the book. He responded with an “oof” and a laugh, then continued to play with my hair.
“That’s not why I like it.” I said defensively “At least, that’s not the whole reason.”
“What’s the whole reason?”
“I don’t really know.” I confessed “I just do.”
“Hmm…” He hummed again, his fingers softly trailing through my hair. I was busy thinking about how great it was that there weren’t any towers nearby that Loki could lock me in so he could perform some princely deed. Yet, I was anxious. I should have never let him hear the story.
“You know, our house isn’t that tall.” He muttered.
“It’s two stories.” I noted a little apprehensively.
“Still, not very tall…” He mused, gazing off towards it.
“No ideas.” I warned. He glanced at me and grinned mischievously.
“No promises.” He responded lightly, then cut off my scold with a kiss.
“If you kill yourself I’ll never speak to you again.” I declared unhappily, crossing my arms at him.
“I have no intention to die.” He replied with a laugh.
“That doesn’t mean it won’t happen.” I grumbled. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close.
“Will you accompany me to bed, your highness?” He purred in my ear.
“Loki, I’m not a princess.” I sighed. I felt his frown against my skin.
“Of course you are.” He said “And you’re my princess, which automatically more charming and beautiful than the ones in any story.”
“Oh, Loki.” I sighed. He kissed me gently and tugged at my shirt.
“You never answered my question.” He purred.

It had been so long since we had watched the movie that I had thought Loki had forgotten about it. As it was one of my few days off from work, I had been planning on sleeping in rather late. I was rudely awakened by a constant thumping coming from somewhere in the room. I opened my eyes groggily and peered around the room.
“Loki?” I called, noticing his usual place in the bed was empty. The thumping continued, one soft, sharp noise about every minute. I got out of bed with a groan and went to go investigate. It was raining softly outside, but the noise couldn’t have been thunder; there was no lightning. Yet, I still followed it to the window. I peered out onto the street, then jumped back in surprise when a small rock hit the glass. I hesitantly opened the window and stuck my head out into the rain.
“What the hell are you doing?!” I cried. Loki looked up at me. He was soaking wet, grinning like a loon, and had a handful of pebbles.
“I’ve misplaced the key to the house.” He called back up “I’m coming in through the window.”
“I don’t think so!” I called back down “How are you supposed to get up here?”
“I had the same question for a long time.” He replied “Your hair is much too short for me to climb up, after all.”
“Listen, you idiot,” I said, rubbing my temples “stay there and I’ll get you in.”
“But that’s backwards!” He whined.
“What?”
“I have to save you, not the other way around!” I groaned.
“Loki, just stay there.” I said, then pulled my head back into the room. I was too tired to deal with his illusions of grandeur this morning. I stumbled to the front door and unlocked it, then walked out into the rainy morning.
“Loki,” I called, walking around the house to where our bedroom window was. I let out a shriek and rushed over when I saw him. He had started climbing up the side of our house.
“Loki, get down!” I cried up at him. He glanced down at me. His feet were already a few inches above my head.
“Hey, you moved!” He whined, doing his best to pout while continuing to cling to the wall.
“Loki, you’re going to hurt yourself!” I yelled.
“I’m fine, love.” He replied “I was coming to save you.”
“Save me from what?!” I demanded. He blinked at me.
“Oh…” He said softly “I hadn’t thought about that… nothing, I guess…”
“Get down here!” I commanded “You’re going to kill yourself!” He frowned at me, but didn’t move.
“Loki!” I whined “Please! You’re going to fall!”
“No, love, I’m going to finish climbing the tower!” He called, apparently from some hidden revenue of strength.
“Loki!” I cried in horror “It’s not a tower, it’s the side of our house! And it’s raining! Loki!”
“I’ll see you in a moment, love!” He called back down and started climbing up the wall again. I let out a groan and sprinted back into the house. I got to the window quickly and looked out to watch Loki’s progress. He looked up at me and smiled.
“Oh, hello.” He said happily “I’m glad you’re back.” He was more than halfway up now and all I could do was watch anxiously as he did his best to cling to the tiny grooves in the brick. In reality, it was probably a miracle that he didn’t slip and break his neck. It was slow goings and I occasionally paced the room nervously, then rushed back to the window to see how much closer he had gotten. I was in the middle of one of my rounds around the room when I heard a grunt rather close to the window.
I rushed over and almost knocked heads with Loki. He grinned at me and grabbed hold of the windowsill to pull himself up. I did my best to help pull him into the room and he fell forward onto the floor, practically doing a somersault. He lay on his back, gasping for breath and closed his eyes.
“That’s a lot harder than it looks.” He panted.
“You’re an idiot.” I said mournfully, resting my head on his heaving chest “What if you’d fallen?”
“But, I didn’t.” He replied, stroking my hair absently.
“But, you might have.”
“But, I didn’t.”
“Oh, Loki…” I whined.
“I get a kiss of climbing the tower, right?” He asked breathlessly.
“You could have just asked!” I said, kissing him gently on the cheek. He pulled me close and kissed me tenderly on the lips.
“That’s not as fun.” He panted, grinning at me.
“You’re an idiot.” I said again, burying my face in his shoulder.
“I know.” He replied.

My only problem with this: Loki doesn't have the power to change reality, just alter our perception of it.
reply
Thats right. He IS the God of lies and mischief after all. I just didn't know how to put it.

Yeah. All that I'm saying is that at the end, he could just completely clean himself up and get rid of the dragon carcass (especially since those things probably would've been illusions anyway( (and this would also be more romantic, in my opinion). Otherwise, AWESOME!
