Chapter 37- Liquid diamonds
As I lay on the ground, my hands pinned on either side by blades, I looked up at the sword Alex held. He raised it above his head, and suddenly time seemed to slow down.The fading light reflecting off of his sword... The ethereal tip of it... every detail was inscrutable. The details and the colours seemed so sharp and perfect... Every scratch on that sword stood out in high relief.
And that's when it stabbed me.
It felt numb for a second, too many things happening at once, but suddenly a wave struck my body like a hammer blow. My whole body tensed as the sword slid into my chest, my mouth open in a silent scream and my eyes wide with shock. It felt like I was on fire, a mixture of hot and cold tingles covered my body. I heard as the blade went past muscle and even grated against bone to reach its destination.
Then I heard a crack.
I knew where it came from.
That one cracking sound seemed to echo a thousand leagues... even though I knew it was probably just me.
For that crack, was my crystalline heart.
I had been stabbed in the heart.
I stared up at the sky without truly focusing on anything, but I couldn't help but see Alex's face on the edge of my vision, smirking with a evil air. My whole body suddenly relaxed as my limbs started going numb.
I had lost.
That was when I heard a scream. It was filled with rage, grief, and fear. A mute boom echoed through my mind. I felt a surge of power unlike any before. The very air seemed to bend and shape, getting drawn towards a unseen point beyond my vision. I tried to turn my head but found it difficult. Blood poured from between my lips, and I coughed weakly. That one act made my whole body feel as if it was on fire again. My bones seemed to rattle in their sockets, my breathe caught in my chest, and my vision dimmed and flickered. But I held on. I finally wrenched my head to the side to see... Ash..?
Her eyes were glowing in a halo of purple and black, wisps of magic wreathing around her face. Her hands were in front of her, cradling a large floating black ball.
But wait... that wasn't a ball... that was a black hole.
Scar stabbed her katana into the ground and held on to avoid being sucked in. Alex did likewise. However, the archer wasn't so lucky. Without a sword at the ready they had nothing to hold onto. Ash saw this, and threw the blackhole at them. As soon as it hit it did something odd. It seemed to wrap the demon in a purple hue, and I watched as it withered before my eyes in a terrible scream. The body blackened, then turned to dust. All that was left was a single demon horn as a trophy.
Everyone froze. Ash's magic died down and she glared at Alex and Scar with a hatred unlike any before. Tears were streaking down her face. She pointed a finger at them and said.
"If you don't fvcking leave right this instant.... I'll destroy you."
Her threat combined with the event that just took place removed any confidence of winning they may have had. They teleported away.
Ash slowly turned to me and whimpered, fresh tears slipping down her face. She ran and sat beside me.
"Solus...?"
"A-Ash..."
She cried and hugged me gently. I coughed, my entire body protesting once again, and she moved my head to rest it on her lap. My voice was weak, and quiet, as I spoke.
"I-It's ok..."
"No It's not S-Solus... I told you... Please... Don't die. Not now. You have a life to live."
"I-I'm 856 y-years old, Ash.... I've lived a humans life a dozen times over... I should be allowed to d--"
"No! No... Your t-too young for a angel... And I can't lose you.. not now. Not ever."
"Ash..."
Her tears fell and landed on my face, my own slipping down my cheek to be buried in the ground.
"Ash.... I love you."
Her eyes widened in surprise and sudden fear. My eyes started to close.
"No! No no no! Stay with me damnit!"
She shouted at me, but all I could care to know, care to see, was the way her tears slipped down her face like liquid diamonds in the night.
They were beautiful.

Chapter 9 is done
After all, I am a whiz with quizzes
Susie went on a walk across See More the park. Suddenly--
The word 'suddenly' adds suspense, and makes you want to know what happens next. You read on, often quicker, to match the pace of the story.
When your ending a chapter, put something that finishes your thought, yet has potential to open up the next chapter. I'm not sure how to make an example of this, so just look at the last sentence or words at the end of my chapters. It SHOULD make you think, make you wonder, what is going to happen next. Or even make some theories in your head for later in the book.
Out of curiosity, what do you think is going to happen next in my book?
@moonston
I hope I'm not confusing. that's one tip.
@moonston
For example, Ash (which can be a boy or a girl), has problems with their magic, and feels like Solus is kind and mysterious. She thinks he is powerful, but holding See More back.
In Solus's opinion (which I don't want to spoil anything so I'll be vague), doesn't feel right in the class. He is different, and everyone knows he's differernt, so he hides his secrets and thoughts well. In chapter 7, he starts taking more notice in Ash, cause she helped him.
@moonston
