Chapter 36- Bad Odds

Solus lunged at Alex and sliced horizontally. Alex jumped back and used his sword to block. Meanwhile the other demon shot at Solus, in which he jumped away to dodge. I clenched my knees and bit my lip. I was anxious to do anything. Anxious for him to win. He had to.
Solus landed gently on his feet just before Scar rushed at him, attempting to slice him from shoulder to hip. He again jumped back, losing ground. That's exactly when Alex used his whip and grabbed his arm. The fight had only lasted a few seconds, yet it was going very badly for Solus.
Solus swung his sword around and tried to chop the whip in two, but Alex unwrapped it in time. Scar kicked him with both feet, knocking him to the ground. He growled and got up, only to be shot away with a dark magic blast. He landed with a soft thud, the air rushing out of his lungs. Alex smirked and strode over to him with Scar. Solus quickly got up and faced them.
"You can't defeat us all at once, so don't even try." Alex threw his sword and caught it perfectly in his palm.
"But I will try. Because I have no other choice."
"Eh, you know, you could always surrender." Scar chimed in.
"That's not on my list of things to do. Go back where you came from demons, or else."
"You don't scare us." Alex grinned. Scar looked uncomfortable. She mumbled.
"Um... Alex?"
"Yeah?"
"He can turn anyone into gold instantly."
"I know that."
"Well uh.. you see.. I don't fancy being turned into gold again."
"Deal with it."
They looked at Solus again and louder Alex said.
"You've made your choice. And so, your immortality shall be ours."
Alex jumped at Solus, slicing downward. Solus jumped back. He then raised his wings and flew in the air. Scar growled.
"Shoot him Yukou!"
The other demon shot at Solus, and even though he dodged, it still hit his wing. The arrow seemed to bend towards it actually.
I cursed under my breathe. I hated magic.
Solus winced and dropped slightly as he surveyed his wound. Alex jumped up and wrapped his whip around Solus's foot. He smashed Solus into the ground like a giant hammer.
The ground cracked under the abuse, leaving a small indent in which Solus lay. Solus raised his hand up but Alex grabbed a knife tucked within his sleeve and threw it, stabbing his hand into the ground. Solus cried out. Golden blood trickled from his wounds, mixing with the dirt and dust on the ground. My eyes widened in surprise and rage.
Solus winced and his hand turned to gold. before he touched the ground Alex stabbed his other hand, breaking his concentration, and forcing him to cry out in pain again.
"You can do this... Come on... Kill them." I whispered underneath my breathe. Inside a wave of hopelessness threatened to consume me.
Alex walked up casually to Solus and stepped on his chest.
"You should have run." he said, as he crushed his foot down. Solus's eyes widened and his mouth opened in a silent cry. I heard sharp cracks as his ribs broke.
If Solus doesn't do anything, I'm going to go kill those sons of bitches. But I don't want to do anything just in case it ends badly... I have to wait.
Solus bit his lip and glared at Alex with all the hate he could muster.
"You.. Should have shut up."
Alex growled and hefted his sword up.
"If your asking to die, you got your wish."
