Chapter 35- Into fire we go
I was looking down at my hand as I heard the whoosh of air that meant Solus was leaving. I turned and watched as he soared away, no doubt to prepare for the fight he chose to accept.I sighed. This was going to be difficult.
I paced around restlessly, waiting for him to arrive. The sky was starting to darken, preparing for nightfall. Finally, Solus landed near me.
"Where were you?! I thought you had been ambushed or something-"
"I had to take care of something. Its all better now."
I growled but let it slide. I was curious but I couldn't delay any more.
"I want to come with you to the fight."
"Its too dangerous you shouldn't-"
"Don't patronize me, Solus. I can handle myself. And if something goes wrong I want to help you."
He hesitated, unsure. I took this chance to kiss him on the cheek. He blushed.
"Please."
I saw him think it over, but I knew he would say yes. You might think it was bad of me to influence him like that but I wasn't going to risk him saying no.
"Fine. And I have a plan as well."
I leaned in while he told me what we were going to do.
2 hours later, the demons showed up. I was hiding out in some bushes far from the battlesite. But because of my good hearing and the flat landscape I could hear and see perfectly well. The only problem was reaching him when things went wrong, but he assured me this was safer for all of us.
I wasn't so sure.
Solus stood with his sword out, and wore armor I had never seen before. It wasn't much, but it was something. He had thin plates of gold on both of his shoulders, and on the joints of his wings. There was also gold spikes at the tip of his wings too. Some of the armor came down from his left shoulder and wrapped around his side, where it rested on his lower spine. He had told me the armor isn't complete, but it will still help him in regards to flexibility and speed, and will help him preserve his strength. When I asked him where he got the armor he told me "From ages long past." Whether that meant his parents gave it to him or what, I couldn't tell.
Alex walked forward, with Scar and another demon behind him. I didn't see scratch. Alex held a long black sword and his usual whip. Scar had her katana, and the third demon had a bow. Alex stopped 10 feet from Solus, and grinned.
"I see you came."
"I didn't have a choice."
"Well, angel boy, any last words?" Alex seemed too confident, grinning and holding his arms out to his sides like he knew he was going to win.
"I'll save those for when I die."
And with that, the fight began.

After all, I am a whiz with quizzes
Susie went on a walk across See More the park. Suddenly--
The word 'suddenly' adds suspense, and makes you want to know what happens next. You read on, often quicker, to match the pace of the story.
When your ending a chapter, put something that finishes your thought, yet has potential to open up the next chapter. I'm not sure how to make an example of this, so just look at the last sentence or words at the end of my chapters. It SHOULD make you think, make you wonder, what is going to happen next. Or even make some theories in your head for later in the book.
Out of curiosity, what do you think is going to happen next in my book?
@moonston
I hope I'm not confusing. that's one tip.
@moonston
For example, Ash (which can be a boy or a girl), has problems with their magic, and feels like Solus is kind and mysterious. She thinks he is powerful, but holding See More back.
In Solus's opinion (which I don't want to spoil anything so I'll be vague), doesn't feel right in the class. He is different, and everyone knows he's differernt, so he hides his secrets and thoughts well. In chapter 7, he starts taking more notice in Ash, cause she helped him.
