Chapter 33- Even if you die
"I'm going to check it out." Solus raised his wings."Wait, I'm coming too." I grabbed his arm, stopping him.
He hesitated.
"I don't want you to get hurt if its demons."
"Ditto angel boy. Take me with you."
"Did you just call me..?"
"Does it matter?"
He was quiet, then sighed.
"Come on."
Excitement made me smile. I got on his back and wrapped my arms over his shoulders. He raised his wings and flew up into the sky.
We landed in a clearing on the outskirts of town. It looked like something had blown up. What was odd though, was the fact there was no-one around.
I slipped off of Solus's back and looked around.
"What happened..?" I whispered
Solus went to the middle of the detonation. He touched the blackened ground. He then brushed some ash away and lifted to reveal a note. He began reading it.
Curious and full of apprehension, I went over to see it too. But when I peeked the only writing on the note were some strange runes that I couldn't make out.
"What does it say?"
Solus sighed and crumbled the note.
"Its a invitation."
"To what?" I was almost afraid to ask.
"A fight."
I let that sink in. The only ones willing to fight were demons. But I had to make sure.
"With who?"
"The Red sword."
"Who??"
"Its what that group of demons called themselves."
"Will you.. I mean... You CAN'T fight them... Can you?"
He looked away, quiet.
"Solus you can't."
"If I do this, they'll leave me alone-"
"They'll kill you!"
His face darkened.
"I can't keep fighting, ash. I can't keep wondering when or how they'll attack me. I have to take this into my own hands"
I grabbed the front of his shirt and pinned him against a tree. He let me.
"I don't care what you say your not going to go into a fight you can't win! You almost died multiple times from those demons, solus. DIED!"
His expression softened. He touched my cheek.
"Then I will win. Ganga lui"
"W-what..?"
He whispered
"For you."
He pulled me in and kissed me. My eyes widened in surprise as blush blossomed on my cheeks.
After a moment he pulled away and gently unclenched my hand from his shirt. I was still so surprised from the kiss that I let him. He stepped around me and walked past me, his left wing brushing against my shoulder and side as gently as a summer breeze.
I turned and watched him go, then looked down at my hand. Purply blue energy bubbled on it. A chaotic terrible magic within.
If something went wrong at the fight, I would save him. Even if it killed everyone in the end.

Chapter 9 is done
After all, I am a whiz with quizzes
Susie went on a walk across See More the park. Suddenly--
The word 'suddenly' adds suspense, and makes you want to know what happens next. You read on, often quicker, to match the pace of the story.
When your ending a chapter, put something that finishes your thought, yet has potential to open up the next chapter. I'm not sure how to make an example of this, so just look at the last sentence or words at the end of my chapters. It SHOULD make you think, make you wonder, what is going to happen next. Or even make some theories in your head for later in the book.
Out of curiosity, what do you think is going to happen next in my book?
@moonston
I hope I'm not confusing. that's one tip.
@moonston
For example, Ash (which can be a boy or a girl), has problems with their magic, and feels like Solus is kind and mysterious. She thinks he is powerful, but holding See More back.
In Solus's opinion (which I don't want to spoil anything so I'll be vague), doesn't feel right in the class. He is different, and everyone knows he's differernt, so he hides his secrets and thoughts well. In chapter 7, he starts taking more notice in Ash, cause she helped him.
@moonston
