Chapter 32- Bad Tidings

I stood, my mind blank.
Did Scra- Azriel just kiss my cheek..?
What was going on?
Still confused, my thoughts turned to Solus. Something was going on, and I should warn him at the very least.
I did up my hair in my usual ponytail then stepped outside. There was a tension in the air, like something bad was going to happen.

I hurried to his house, knowing the way by memory, but stopped as I saw a shadow on the ground around me. I looked up and saw him in the sky, flying and diving around in a flurry. He looked happy.
"Solus!" I shouted, cupping my hands around my mouth to carry the sound. He didn't hear me, so I shouted again.
He stopped and looked down at me. Then he dove swiftly down only to land gracefully in front of me.
"Oh hey ash. How are you?"
"I feel like somethings going on. Scratch came to me last night and-"
"He did what?" I felt Solus's mood change instantly. He looked guarded.
"Its not what you think. He's good. I mean, he told me a lot of things and-"
"What did he tell you exactly?"
I felt my mind race for a answer. Why was I so stupid? I couldn't tell Solus of what he told me. It was Solus's past after all. He might get suspicious.
"I... Can't say."
"Please try."
"Its personal."
Solus sighed. and tucked a hand in his pocket.
"Ok then... Why do you think something bad is going to happen?"
"Because Azriel acted like something was happening out of nowhere."
"Azriel?"
"Scratch. Listen its complicated-"
Suddenly a loud boom erupted in the distance. Solus shoved me behind him.
"What was that?" I asked. Solus ignored me and listened carefully, tense.
When nothing seemed to happen he relaxed a little.
"I don't know. But it sounded bad."
I couldn't have summed it up better.
