Chapter 25- Flip of the coin
Solus jumped in the air and swung downward. He would have chopped her in half if she hadn't jumped backwards, stumbling out of the way. Just as he was about to attack her again he got shot in the side with dark magic, getting hit against the wall. My eyes widened. I saw scratch's hand was glowing, pointed at Solus. He lowered his arm.Solus got up just as Scar slashed at him with her Katana. Solus stumbled backwards to avoid getting chopped. Scar swept her tail under his feet, and he fell. As he started getting up she put a foot on his chest, keeping him down. He growled. She smiled and raised her sword to stab downwards,
I ran out and shoved her as hard as I could, sending her sprawling. In that same instant Scratch brought out a long knife and stabbed me in my right shoulder. I cried out in pain and stumbled back, holding it. I saw his eyes. Scratch looked dead serious, as if this was a job he was forced to do.
Solus stood up as Scar did, and swung his wing at her. It hit her, the joint going against her neck, and pinned her against the wall.
"Scratch! Deal with her. I'll handle the angel."
Solus turned to look at me, distracted. Scar wiggled and brought him back to attention. Meanwhile, Scratch was walking up to me. His knife shifted, turning into a big one handed sword. The blade was black with a purple line running down the middle. I backed away, knowing he could easily hurt me if he wanted to. We kept backing up until we were basically out of earshot. Then he stopped.
Confused, I stopped as well. He looked at Solus and Scar, struggling and fighting. Then he looked back at me. He whispered, his voice so quiet and deep it was hard to hear.
"Don't struggle, you'll make this worse. Just be quiet and play along."
Then he wrapped his tail around me like a rope, trapping me. I wiggled, but then hesitated and stopped. He walked back over to scar, dragging me gently behind him. Solus and Scar were still struggling. Scratch spoke, louder this time.
"Scar."
She grabbed Solus's wing and threw him into the ground. She put a foot on his back, between his shoulder blades, and twisted his arm back. He winced.
"What, Scratch?" She sounded a bit annoyed.
"Can't you see I'm busy?"
"I got the girl."
"Why is she alive?"
Scratch looked away. Scar glared at him. Solus struggled and Scar yanked on his arm some more. He winced from pain. Then he smirked. Suddenly his arm glowed, and Scar was turned into gold. He stood up, shoving her off. He then turned to Scratch. Scratch flinched as Scar's frozen body hit the ground.
They looked each other in the eyes, neither of them blinking. There was a strange similarity in them, in the way they gazed at each other. Then Scratch dropped me and stepped to the side.
Solus looked at him, then went up to me and helped me up. I hugged him and he hugged back, then looked at Scratch.
"Your not going to attack us, are you?"
Scratch nodded. "It's not my style."
"I can tell. Pour water over her in fifteen minutes or so, or in a hour. She's a demon, she can handle a little while as a statue. Oh, and you should know..."
Solus spoke to Scratch in a strange language I hadn't heard before. It sounded ancient. When he was done scratch nodded. Solus turned to me and picked me up, putting me on his back. He then walked away.

After all, I am a whiz with quizzes
Susie went on a walk across See More the park. Suddenly--
The word 'suddenly' adds suspense, and makes you want to know what happens next. You read on, often quicker, to match the pace of the story.
When your ending a chapter, put something that finishes your thought, yet has potential to open up the next chapter. I'm not sure how to make an example of this, so just look at the last sentence or words at the end of my chapters. It SHOULD make you think, make you wonder, what is going to happen next. Or even make some theories in your head for later in the book.
Out of curiosity, what do you think is going to happen next in my book?
@moonston
I hope I'm not confusing. that's one tip.
@moonston
For example, Ash (which can be a boy or a girl), has problems with their magic, and feels like Solus is kind and mysterious. She thinks he is powerful, but holding See More back.
In Solus's opinion (which I don't want to spoil anything so I'll be vague), doesn't feel right in the class. He is different, and everyone knows he's differernt, so he hides his secrets and thoughts well. In chapter 7, he starts taking more notice in Ash, cause she helped him.
