Chapter 24- To Kill Or Not To Kill

Solus froze. He was facing away from me, but I could see his fists clench slightly.
"What."
"You heard me. How many... Hmm.. I believe it was three. Three other angels have stood before me, in a similar way as you. You know, all you angels are different, but you all have the same weaknesses. The same heart. The same rules burned in your blood. I know for a fact that when a angel dies, its the nearest angels duty to avenge them. You can't help it. It's second nature. I also know that every angel has three weaknesses to get past their magic. Any weapon can hurt you, so long as you let your guard down."
Solus's wings raised slightly. He turned his head slightly to the side, so he was speaking over his shoulder.
"You killed the other angels."
His voice was flat, but behind it I could tell that he was emotional. A mix of grief, a mix of anger perhaps. It was hard to tell.
"Now now, I wouldn't say that. After all, there was one angel I kept alive... but they died at the hands of my leader."
"And who is that?"
"You should know his name. We're a group. Scratch and me are the ones who do all the hard work. We're the assasins. There are quite a few others in this group, but none are on earth."
Then she smiled.
"Speaking of, angel boy, why are YOU on earth? Don't you have a land of your own?"
Solus was silent.
"Oh, that's right. It was 'tainted'. Jeez, you angels sure are crazy about your magic. A little bit of death, what's the problem?"
Solus didn't say anything.
"Cat got your tongue?"
Solus looked up at the sky and closed his eyes.
"I can feel your power. It's in the ground you walk on, in the air you breathe, and in the water you drink. I can feel your aura."
Scar looked a bit uncomfortable. She shifted in place slightly, and I saw her getting ready to fight if need be.
Solus turned to her.
"Together your both stronger then me. Let's see if I can change that."
His sword appeared in his hand and he lunged towards scar.
