I think that's a great idea to do! (:
Anyways here's my problem;
Alright, so it's been about 5 to 6 years since I've seen a dentist for a basic cleaning. Near the end of March, my front teeth started to feel like they were being pushed out, due to my bottom front teeth. I made my parents aware of that. My parents pretty much ignored it. So I felt it was necessary at the time to write a proffesional letter to them, saying so why I need to at least go to the dentist for a basic See More cleaning. I placed it somewhere I thought they were to find in less than a week.
They didn't find it in less than a week. I forgot about the letter I left about 2 weeks after placing it in the location.
A few Saturdays ago, my dad finds it, I over hear their conversation while I'm in my bedroom reading a Dragonball Z manga. After my dad is finished reading it my mom says "She just wrote that to us because every kid she knows has braces and she wants to be just like them and have braces." Not once did I mention in the letter about braces. I actually know more people without braces than with, I also don't want braces because I've heard they're painful.
My mom continues to say "I'm not going to pay 500 dollars for braces so that she can be 'cool'. She can find the 500 dollars for that" I was then at that time tempted to go out there and state I didn't mention anything about braces, nor do I want them at all. But I did not. I continued to stay in my bedroom and kept listing to my mom ranting.
She then says "You know what? I'll take her to a dentist once she cleans her room." I'll admit it, my room is quite a mess.
Anyways, after she stated that, I could not understand the rest of the conversation.
I hardly smile and show my teeth due to not seeing a dentist every 8-9 months.
My parents are gunna see the dentist for their own appointment for themselves soon but haven't bothered to make a appointment for me.
What should I do?

going to the dentist doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to get braces, it just means that the dentist will tell you what is wrong with your teeth. So if you go to the dentist, your dentist will tell the truth and your parents will have to believe him/her. also, if you are so sure that you need to see a dentist immediately and you tell your parents this, See More then that means that you are willing to risk that you may be wrong about your dental situation, and i'm pretty sure that you're not. tell your parents this. good luck!

ok. I'm really sorry that your parents are not taking you seriously. i've been in that boat before. here's what i think you should do. have a serious talk with your parents and tell them what you really think. to me it sound like you haven't really had a detailed discussion with them. Bring up all of the points that you told me. if it is really true that you See More have not seen a dentist in 5 years, then your parents should know that about you and then surely scheduling a dentist appointment they can manage... right?
