Why are some people racist? Seriously, If it's only skin colour, then why do some people not like those from another country or with a different skin tone?

Some of it has to do with fear. Some people are afraid of what or who they don't understand and or someone different from them.

when i was little i didnt know that there were different races. when i looked at someone i didnt see a skin color i saw a person. and i think thats the way it should be your whole life but unfortunetly we are taught race and some people dont understand that we are all human and so they become racist.

Because it gives them an excuse (A bad one) to be an a-hole

When humans used to have tribes, you'd only want the people in your tribe near you, because they'd have less of a chance of attacking you. This knowledge was embedded in our brains, causing some people to immediately distrust those who look different from them. However, this is no excuse, as we don't have tribes, we have more technology and knowledge, and if anyone's attacks you, you can sue them.
