Should I get a tattoo when I'm older? My mom doesn't approve and I always have my doubts but I just think tattoos are so cooool!!! I would only ever get one or two none of those massive sleeves or anything and I would seriously think it through and get it in a place where I could easily hide or show. Opinions?

It wouldn't be a flaming skull X'D no no no and also when I'm 80 i'm not gonna care what I look like and also I'm going to get it in a place I can hide easily like my shoulder and I oubt I'll be wearing strapless things when I'm older. So when I get older is not the problem...

It depends on what your opinion of it is, you need to remember tattoos are permanent, and it could cause some problems when you get older

No for these reasons,
1. A tatto lasts forever. If you want it removed, you will get a white patch where the tatto was.
2. God gave us our skin. Isn't it enough? If we paint our skin (getting a tatto), you will be doing a sin.
3. It affects the job you have. You could dream about doing something, but you can't do it because of your tatto.
4. Tattos are expensive. Are you really going to use a weekly pay to get a painting on your arm?
5. Design, design, design, what if your See More obsessed with butterflys when you get a tatto, but you hate it 15 yesrs later because you love dragons then.
6. Allergies. What if you get a tatto, but it will always be itcy and your nose is allways runny because your allergic to the ink in tattos.
7. Having a tatto increases the cance of having mellonoma (skin cancer) which you die a slow, painful death.
8. You can always have a temporary one.

Good points but just to rebuttal:
1. The permanency is one reason why it's so appealing. To have something that lasts forever and will go with you wherever you go seems pretty nice.
2. Not that religious and I don't think it's a sin to get a tattoo...
3. If you get the tattoo in the right place (i.e. back, shoulder, thigh) it is extremely easy to hide.
4. In See More general, they won't go over 1000, and that is fairly easy to save up for once you have a good job.
5. Another appealing thing, it's supposed to be something you would never lose faith in, or lose your love for. So, again, something you love cherished on your body forever seems pretty cool.
6. You can get tested before and hardly anyone ever is.
7. Um, no... Sorry, but skin cancer is more often a genetic thing. What does cause greater chances is tanning. Medically, they really only realistically risk infection and that's rare if you go to a good place.
8. Not worth the trouble.

You cant hide a tattoo, if you get it on your back you'll wear a bikini and show it off. If on your arm, you wear short sleeves all the time, If on your neck you'll pin your hair up in a bun every once in a while.
Whats your reasoning for getting a tattoo and "Its pretty" isn't a good enough reason!
Just because your getting a small tattoo, you will regret it. It lowers job offerings and a lot of things! Don't get a tattoo until you have a true REASON to get one know that its See More PERMANENT and it lasts FOREVER!

Ok, first off, you CAN, very easily in fact, hide a tattoo. Let's say I get one on my shoulder, I can hide it with sleeves without even thinking about it. Getting a tattoo would be interesting because it can inspire you or give you hope or have a special meaning. Most jobs that I'm interested in don't care. Also, I do have reasons for wanting a tattoo.

If it's a temporary tattoo, sure...whateve's ;)
Nah...
I personally wouldn't get one; I wouldn't want to get something I would have to keep the rest of my life. And anyways, I don't like permanent tattoo's in the first place. But that's just me.
Also, as I said before, you can never get rid of tattoos, so think carefully.

Maybe get one on your shoulder blade. I was planning on getting something small, like a Greek symbol or the dark mark, but it is up to you. As MockingjayDistrict said, some jobs won't hire you if you have a visiable tattoo. If you get one on your arm, some jobs have a long sleeved uniform option. This is like gauges and piercings. They are acceptable at most jobs, but once gauges get to large, or piercings become too many, you have to stop.

It would look weird if you wear a sleeveless dress and plus some jobs won't hire you if you have a tattoo. Even Starbucks won't hire you if you have one that will show while wearing the work uniform. So I say no, but it is competently up to you.
You're welcome!

Well it wouldn't show because it would be somewhere I could hide it easily and also if I wore a dress that showed it I would want it to show it
ASnd I respect it and see your point. Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to answer my question :)

I do a LOT of tattoo designs on myself and my friends. I get really bored. -_- what kind of thing were you thinking of? Idk, some people will judge you for it. Be very careful where and what it is.
I was thinking biomechanical or something that interacts with the skin OR a quote or something inspirational
Maybe get it somewhere like on your lower back or behind your ear covered by your hair

Dammit I'm not on the laptop, other wise I have loads of cool pictures I found of tattoo ideas (idk why I wasn't even planning to get a tat, my dad would kill me)

Tribal tattoos that are like flames are cool. Or quotes with a design like an illustration or something is cool.

I don't see why not, but you'll have to decide very carefully what it'll be. Also if you can stand needles, for eg my mum wants a tattoo but she's too scared of pain and needles...
Also (if you do get one) make sure it's in a reliable place

I suggest you don't. It would be cool, but would you want it forever and ever? Do you want it when you're an old person? Here's my suggestion: there spare some special temporary tattoos that look real, and last for months. You can always keep buying the same one. Plz don't get a permanent tattoo!
Think about it this way. Maybe right now you don't care about having it when you're old, but when you're old you will be thinking "why did I get this? In the past I didn't care, but now I do"
It's happened to me a lot but in other situations.
