I think pretending you don't know him will make it worse because of the Male-Ego and whatnot. He probably made you trip because he wants attention and he's doing the same thing if he's dating your BFF. Explain to him it's not funny and that your not sure what he wants exactly.

Don't let him get under your skin. If you're over him, then don't let it bother you. Stand your ground, and if it gets out of hand straight up tell him to get lost. Hope this helps:)

Maybe go out together and talk. He might come around and realize that he should pay attention to you. You could try flirting with other guys and see if that gets his attention. If it's not better soon, then dump him. If he won't pay attention and is flirting then he's not worth it. Hope this helps!
