Aaaand 5th grade is kinda young but eh do what you like. You'll probably not date this guy long term (your in 5th grade) so friends might just be easier. When you break up things will be awkward after but at least you'll have had fun??? I don't know what I'm saying

Personally, I think guys should make the first move, but you seem a bit young to date. So, just remember not to get too serious while you're still young. There's a really good chance you wouldn't stay with him anyway because people change. But whatever you do, good luck!

Ok. You seem a little young to be dating but I'm not a mom so I really don't care. :p But, if you like him then become friends with him and get to know him. Ask him if he likes you too, and if he does ask him out! Or if he doesn't, wait a while and see if he does later on.
If he doesn't like you then move on, it's no use chasing after him if he is not interested.
