Do you think music is getting worse as the years go by? You see, the thing is I've grown up in an era of One Direction and Justin Bieber and I've been starting to wonder, is modern music ruining the sense of the word music? I'm thirteen and I'm a Queen fan which doesn't help me at all in school. People seem to worship modern music in our school and Lady Gaga and cheap boy bands of talent[less] shows and I don't understand why! Why can't some people just appreciate music like Bon Jovi and Blondie and other stuff again? Do you agree with me? If not, please don't answer like you want to drive a spear though me.

it should be an individuals choice as to what to hear and what not to hear and not based on mere public choice....after all we are different individuals with different choices and tastes...

I really agree with Kearahodge1.
I mean.. these days it is just about kissing, breaking up, heart broken, etc. My dad is a fan of Meat Loaf, Bon Jovi, U2.. and they have great songs. I like modern music too but the old music is too. By 'old music' I don't measn Classic music, like Rock and things. Get what I mean?

I feel like pop is taking over everything. Right now, the centre of attention is basically on singers, actors/actresses, dancers, or models. Never on classical instrument players. Classical music should still be payed attention to!

No, music and tastes are subjective so who are you to say that that's bad music?
Also, all of you seem to feel as though you're better than the people who listen to modern music. You aren't, music is just music, it might means something to you but music is just music. You can't judge music when you have obvious bias. Stop being such a special snowflake because you aren't.

I personally feel that all of this modern music is STUPID!!!!!!! We want the other guys back!!! I like old rock bands myself and think this 1D JB whatever is....something that would be blocked by the filter XD. I like music that has a true meaning!! Like a story, not the same everytime. I hate hearing the same, oh boo boo poor me I got dumped boo boo I'm sad!! Its like, UGH!!! MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!!

I agree with you all the way, music seems to be losing it's meaning; all songs now are about partying, kissing and breaking up. Where as Queen, the Eagles and all the other older bands and singers wrote there OWN songs and had EXPERIENCE in life which they wrote about in their songs. The only modern singer I like is Emeli Sande;she writes her own, true songs and sings them with her amazing voice. I wish I was living in the 70's, where I could escape from all the rubbish songs See More that are going about now.

Music never gets old, it is refreshed everytime we hit the play button. it's just an opinion as to what people prefer. more people are exposed longer to the modern music, because it gets played more and people grow used to it. when you were growing up you were probably exposed to old time rock and roll. So frankly, like what you want because nobody can choose for you. a person who likes a song has their preference, and listening so somebody elses music can tell you a lot about See More them. Everyone is different and no two people have the exact same playlist

I hear a lot of people over internet saying how: Cartoons, music etc. aren't as good as they were in the "Good old days". Personally I think a lot of it down to nostalgia and things you grew up with. Because if you think about, you'll only really remember the good songs but then you reamember there were way more bad songs then good songs, no matter what time it was.

Modern pop/rap is pathetic. (Yes, especially Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and One Direction.)
I adore modern metal, techno, dubstep, and alternative rock.

I personally think it depends on what type of music you listen to. Rap seems to be getting more and more pointless, considering you can barely understand what people are saying. It also depends on what artist is making the songs. I'd say the majority of the music is okay, but some of it is getting pointless and just irritable to listen to.

I personally think that music is definitely getting worse. It used to be about the lyrics and the actual music part of it, but now it seems like that's all been taken away. Of course, it is up to the listener to decide; this is just my opinion.

I love old music and I love new music.
"Worse" is an opinion. There is no right or wrong opinion.
Tastes can't be judged as better or worse either, since each person defines what they think themselves.

Well, I think that music has changed. Personally, I like to listen to older bands such as Eagles, Beatles, America, Queen, Led Zepplin, and many more. But I also listen to some more modern music as well. It is up to us to decide whether we listen to more modern music, or some older tunes. Personally, music has changed in what the songs are about. Some music I listen to have these deep hidden meanings and morals, while other songs are about the shape of a woman and how attractive See More a man finds her. These are my personal opinions, and I'm not trying to cause any trouble by sharing them.

Yes, it is getting more mature, and swearing is more common. Not looking so well for the next generations of music honestly.
