Well dude he was killing people it's not like that's something the law is going to look over
"Oh he's killing bad guys yeah who cares"
It's the law
They aren't going to do that, they're going to try everything to stop him. Which they did end up doing

He did more than oppose he tried to stop him completely

Dude L did nothing but try to catch Kira
And he killed him

He killed only criminals or those that opposed him, he spared those who could be excused or had a reason to not be killed, and those who have done nothing wrong were fine

I hate Kira, he was corrupted by power and didn't kill for good in the end
I liked him in the beginning, but then he just started killing good people because they got in his way
