I was on the ACAB subreddit discussing the fact that a lot of factors and conversations I heard when I was arrested seems to point to the county specifically targeting and rounding up people they perceive as being homeless. Somebody shared a link with me that Florida IS trying to get homeless people off the streets. But they're doing it by shoving them into shelters and jails.
I heard something like this, but honestly, there has been some improvement over the past few years with See More how cops in FL treat travellers (thanks to the hard work of activists), I did not expect them to hit that hard that fast.
I'm tired.

Reminder that Mangione's case is still ongoing. His rights were completely violated, and the police absolutely used intimidation to keep him in place. They then proceeded to take his belongings and search them (without a warrant and while also claiming he had not been detained) out of sight for 10 minutes (plenty of time to plant evidence).
Whether he was the shooter or not, this is NOT how an investigation is to be carried out. In most cases, the evidence found would be useless See More in the trial because it was illegally obtained.

An activist and member of AIM, Peltier was (and likely still is) dedicated to fighting for Native American rights. While there was little evidence and Peltier denies having killed those two federal agents, he had still been incarcerated, likely due to trial misconduct.
But personally, even if he had been the one who had killed them, I don't consider it unjustified. See More The US and Canadian governments have been mistreating Native and non-native peoples for so long. They intentionally seek to mar the image of, imprison, and murder the individuals and movements who fight back.
It's wrong for the people to fight back, but it's okay for law enforcement to open fire on protesters? They kidnap, abuse, and extort us, but we have to just keep quiet and take it?

To clarify, they are aiming to remove trans people from the civil rights act. This would make it legal to deny trans folks loans, housing and even jobs.

When Donald Trump reentered office, one of his first calls to action was to end several DEI initiatives in the federal government.
Sidenote: This boycott is intended to largely protest against Trump and his ending multiple DEI initiatives. However, in my opinion, Trump is only a small part of the issue. The entire system is jank and there are no good politicians. I have no interest in DEI initiatives, because I don't want a space in this society carved out for people like me, I want the See More entire society thrown out. I'll be boycotting to show support nonetheless.
