I think that I'll redo my story a bit.
The goal is to revive the Master Sword, so that Ganon can be defeated.
The first dungeon is the Treetop Shrine. The Forest Spirit, Prince Fern is rescued after the temple is defeated.
The next one is the Fire related dungeon. This dungeon leads up to Cora's rescue.
The third dungeon is the Lost Seas Temple, found in the bay that the Zora River feeds. This one saves Kaela, who'd been turned to coral stone.
The fourth temple is the Temple of See More Frost. In this dungeon, you are accompanied by the missing person from the village. She refuses to return to her village until the boss is defeated. After you finally finish that one, you begin to descend the mountain, finding a frozen river. When you try to cross it, you fall in. This takes you to the Nightmare Realm. This place is mostly combat. It requires you to fight a monster that transforms into 'Dark' versions of the characters who you'd saved. The character finally reveals itself to be Shadow Ganondorf, the Nightmare King. When he is defeated, Link awakens in the home of the mountain girl and her grandpa. It is discovered that the entire thing was a dream, after the hero had fallen into the river and remained asleep for three days. After that's all over and done, you have all of the things needed to fix the sword.
When you arrive at the Temple of Time, the sword glows with a familiar light. After some taunting, the sacred sword breaks, and the spirit inside emerges;
Fi; Broken Sword Spirit.
You have to defeat Fi, and the sword fixes itself. That's basically it.
