today is the 13th anniversary of i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love, and mcr day. so i figured i'd write a short message about mcr and what they mean to me.
it was only back in january that i heard the black parade for the first time. and i fell in love with it. i planned on only being a casual fan, but i guess that was too difficult for me.
even though i've only been a killjoy since january, mcr mean so, so much to me. they're the first band in the emo trinity See More that i listened to, so they begun that for me.
i was kind of judged at school this year for liking them, but luckily that was only because people didn't know who they were. and it annoys me so much that people would actually hate on them for things that aren't even true. like, when exactly did they encourage suicide? yeah, never. they've actually saved so many lives with their music, and they need more credit for that. there are so many people who judge them for their image and don't bother taking the music into consideration. and if they actually heard their songs, they would know how wrong they are. because the lyrics of mcr songs are so beautiful, and encouraging.
and, like, when do you ever hear songs nowadays talking about something as tragic as cancer? yes, the black parade is all about death, but the thing is: they tell it how it is. they don't sugarcoat it at all. and then there's danger days, which is so different, and yet still so amazing.
the black parade will always be special to me since it was the first mcr album i heard, but honestly, i think three cheers for sweet revenge is my favourite. like, songs like i'm not okay and cemetery drive.
that whole thing was kind of a mess, but what i'm trying to say is, my chemical romance mean a lot to me and i am so, so grateful to the four of them for everything they did from 2001 to 2013. thank you. and of course:
