Perseverance

Prologue

Cara awoke. She had been asleep for awhile now, though she felt quite energetic. Quickly, she discovered that she had been on the bench, outside of the orphanage that she called home. To be honest, she felt that she hadn't got much to lose. She had no real parents, siblings or anything of the sort. However, she didn't necessarily think of it as a bad thing. Many people would love to go and venture out to unknown places, yet they could not bring themselves to leave there family and friends behind, in the boring yet dangerous town.
Perhaps she was actually quite lucky. She could venture out into the unknown and be leaving no one who truly cared for her behind. Surely, someone who had lots to live for would  go on many adventures, given the chance. "Maybe I should go out on an adventure," Cara said quietly to herself, unaware of those listening, hidden in the shadows of the many bushes and trees.
She asked her only best friend, Milly, what she thought of the idea, of going out on an adventure, not knowing what many surprises awaited her. Milly, being a fan of adventures, asked, "I think its a great idea, but I'm coming with you no matter what." Cara smiled. So it was settled, they were going to venture out into the unknown tomorrow.
