The Kits

This is a warrior cat fan-made story of mine. The art isn't mine but the story is. -- This is the story about Cindertuft and her sister(s) Brightflame (& Blackfrost). Cindertuft (an apprentice at the time) falls in love with a Riverclan warrior (who was also an apprentice). His name was Hawkflame & he loved her & she loved him. One day, Hawkflame decides that he suddenly doesn't love her anymore. Will they break up? Or will they get back together later on? Brightflame also has the same problem with Swiftbreeze, her mate from Windclan. Blackfrost has the same problem with Foxclaw, her mate from Shadowclan.

The Death Of Someone Not-So-Close (Chapter 5)

Cinderpaw woke up to feel a paw jabbing her side. When her eyes opened she saw Longpelt trying to wake her up. "Oh, you're awake now. I've been trying to get you up for a while now." Longpelt explained. Cinderpaw opened her mouth to apologize, but Longpelt interrupted her. "Anyways, you're on the Dawn Patrol. Better get moving before they leave you behind!" Cinderpaw quickly got up and ran out of the Medicine Cat Den. When Cinderpaw finally reached the patrol she saw Bramblepelt, Brightpaw, Ashtail, Darkpaw, and Dustfur. When Bramblepelt noticed that Cinderpaw had arrived, he left the camp and so did the rest of the patrol. Bramblepelt (being the leader of the patrol) was in the front of the group. Ashtail and Dustfur were trailing begin him. Brightpaw and Darkpaw were behind those two and Cinderpaw was in the back of the patrol.

On the way back to camp something bad happened. Two foxes appeared out of nowhere. It shocked the patrol but the three warriors and Darkpaw, who was WAY more experienced than Brightpaw and Cinderpaw fought the foxes. Unfortunately, one of the foxes had snapped Ashtail's neck when it picked her up and slung her around. "Ashtail! No!" Darkpaw yowled in pain from emotions and from the battle. If you couldn't tell, Ashtail was Darkpaw's mother. Everyone (except Cinderpaw) jumped on the foxes. One of the foxes was now dead and the other one ran. Cinderpaw was using herbs that were around her at the time to stop the bleeding from the battle. "I-its.... No use.... Cinderpaw. I-its my time...." Ashtail struggled to get the words out. "Mom! No!" Darkpaw yowled as he ran over to Ashtail, ignoring the pain from his new wounds. "This is your fault! You couldn't save her in time!" Darkpaw hissed at Cinderpaw. "I-i'm sorry that I c-couldn't do anything...." Cinderpaw sounded shocked and very sad and hurt as her voice cracked. Cinderpaw had tears spilling out of her eyes as she backed away, scared of what would happen now. Brightpaw stood up for her sister. "Hey! Darkpaw! You leave my sister alone!" Brightpaw hissed at the older apprentice. Right as Darkpaw was about to hiss something back, he got interrupted by Bramblepelt. "That is enough! All of you! This WILL be reported to Whitestar." Darkpaw and Brightpaw silently glared at each other.

~~ Time Skip ~~

When they reached camp, the patrol wasn't surprised to see other's shocked expressions when their eyes landed on Ashtail's limp, dead body. Dustfur was the one to drag her body back to camp. Whitestar walked out of his den only to see that his mate was dead. "What in the name of Starclan happened here?" He asked in a deep and calm voice even though on the inside he was hurt. "Ashtail died when we were fighting two foxes and one got a hold of her and Cinderpaw here couldn't save her in time!" Darkpaw exclaimed. "I-it wasn't my fault... I-i swear..." Cinderpaw cried quietly. Longpelt walked over to her. "You're correct, Cinderpaw. This ISN'T your fault. I've already had this vision a few weeks ago." Longpelt explained. "And you didn't tell anyone about it?!" Darkpaw growled. "That's enough Darkpaw! Even though you're my son, that does NOT give you the right to yell at anyone!" Whitestar exclaimed. This made Darkpaw shut up.

It was now night time and they were finally buring Ashtail's body. Longpelt and Bluefang had kept trying to calm Cinderpaw down. Cinderpaw was crying. She still thought that Ashtail dying was her fault. Brightpaw and Blackpaw were quietly hissing at Darkpaw for making their sister cry. Bluefang helped Longpelt get Cinderpaw over to the Med Den and into her nest.

~~ Time Skip (again) ~~

Cinderpaw woke up around midnight because it was dark and nobody else was up. She took this time to quietly get up from her very comfortable nest and sneak out of the camp. Cinderpaw then went all the way up to where Ashtail's body was buried. But unfortunately, Darkpaw was there so she just tried to sneak out of the area. And surprise! It worked! Cinderpaw did successfully sneak back into the camp when he wasn't there.
