Ways to Say Goodbye

This is a story about a girl named Victoria. Her parents are divorced, so she lives with her mom in Oakville. When Victoria finds out her mom is dating Tom, a person that she works with, she feels so angry. This is ruining her plan to get her parents back together! After Tom proposes, Victoria learns that she'll have to move to Vancouver with her new dad and new siblings, Abby and Matt. Victoria has to go to a new school, make new friends and live in a new house and town. And she's dealing with mortal enemies, a crush and a totally new family. On top of all that, her new dad leaves a note that she doesn't completely understand...

Forgot

Before 1st Period, 8:45 am, Friday December 4th, 2015

I was walking into the school when Emily and Sam came up to me. I really didn't want to see them right now because i forgot to text them last night to say i wasn't coming to see the powerpoint. I had to leave for hockey and I forgot my phone. By the looks on their faces, I could tell that they were not happy.
"So, why didn't you come yesterday?" Emily asked me. "Ya. You said that you would. We were waiting for you for an hour. You could've at least texted us or something," said Sam, sounding upset. "I'm so sorry about that. It's just that I had hockey-"
"What else is new?!" yelled Sam. "I'm sorry. It's not my fault that I have another commitment that I made before this one!" I yelled back.
"That's not the point! You always miss everything! You missed the time where you were gonna help me study because you had to go to piano, you missed the school dance because you had to go to art class, and you even missed my 11th birthday because you had to go to hockey," Sam said.
"Ok, well I think I'm gonna go to my locker..." said Emily, slowly backing away.
I immediatly felt really guilty. Did I really miss that much? I just looked at Sam with a sad face when the bell rang. She turned around without saying anything, and walked to class.
