Chapter 5. The prophecy

It was Jaden. I growled at him and saw what he was wearing- he really looked like a vampire from the movies!
-"What are you doing here?!" I said trying to put as much venom into my voice as possible which was hard since i felt like laughing. He looked hilarious!  Jaden didn't flinch. " I saw your parents being taken by the MHA, I'm sorry but they're goners..unless..Nevermind" he replied ignoring my last comment. I looked at him. He was hiding something. Jaden had his head down as if in though but then he looked up and noticed Gwen and raised a eyebrow."Who is she?" Jaden asked still looking at Gwen.I growled and replied still trying not to laugh which became more and more difficult each second."None of your business!"And how do you know?!" I then added. I know it probably was true but i refused to believe it.Jaden looked at me and in his eyes i could see a hint of..sorrow? "Because Once, I too had my parents taken away..I never saw them again" Jaden replied with a quieter voice. I felt a pang of guilt for bringing it up and forgot all about how he looked."Oh.."I just said, I didn't know what else to say.

"Aria, we should get a move on, The MHA stop by here again in thirty minutes, part of a patrol routine" Gwen stated breaking the silence. I looked at her and nodded. I had no wish to see them again. We started walking away when Jaden suddenly appeared in front of me. " wait, i'm coming with you, its the least I can do" Jaden replied in a tone that I instantly knew he would come no matter what I did or said or whether we liked it or not. I sighed in defeat and said fine. Jaden smirked at me and then teleported next to us as we began walking away to who knows where.

I looked at him then whispered for Gwen to walk ahead since I needed to talk to her. She nodded then sped up whispering what."Hes hiding something..something that could help save my parents" i whispered back." Well duh, and its probably about that prophecy thingy ma bob." Gwen said as if it was obvious.I looked at her. A prophecy? What prophecy? I thought.
"Well...theres a prophecy, something about some person who will save monsters everywhere and create harmony between humans and monsters.I feel like its just a bunch of hogwash,but hey? Who knows" Gwen whispered.

I sighed, that didnt help much and looked back at her. She was glaring, oops i forgot she can read minds.. "Hmph!" Gwen replied and walked off. Well there goes that attempt to find out. I knew she was only joking but still. I looked back at Jaden who was tailing behind us to make sure we weren't being followed, you know just in case?. He caught my gaze and stopped to look back at me. I felt dizzy and light headed.The next thing I knew was that I was lying in his arms. It took me a few seconds to process what just happened."Are you ok?" Jaden asked sounding genuinely concerned. I blushed and then jumped right up and looked up at him. Damn him being taller." I-im fine!" I replied hastily as he started looking at me strangely because i wasnt answering."Well ok, if you say so." He merely shrugged and walked back away.

Curse him and his irritating laid back attitude..he thinks hes so cool! Well he aint! I heard giggling behind me and whipped around seeing Gwen laugh.I growled and gave the best glaring daggers look I could muster. Gwen only laughed harder. "looks like someone has a crush!" She teased in a sing songy voice before proceeding to make kissing actions acting all lovey dover.Thats it! I thought, shes getting the silent treatment! Having read my thoughts she only smirked before continuing. "Aria and Jaden sitting in a tree," she began. Oh no..not that rhyme. I mentally groaned and she only continued to smirk." k-i-s-s-i-n-g," I wanted to slap her right then but refrained from doing so, after all, i was giving her the silent treatment after all." First comes love,then comes marria-" i covered her mouth clearly annoyed and gave her a murderous look. " shut it.." I said dangerously before uncovering her mouth. "THEN COMES A BABY IN A CARRIAGE" she yelled nearly blowing my eardrums away.

I was about to growl but then Jaden just HAD to walk past. I felt myself blushing again.He stopped and looked at us smirking."What was that about a baby again?" He asked before noticing my face." Oh and Aria, Why so flustered?" He added smirking. I growled and felt a vein throbbing on my forehead. Thats it.. I shouted in anger waving my arms up and down yelling all sorts of unladylike insults at him." What colorful language, who taught you all these words?" Jaden fake questioned and just smirked still. I growled and ran up to him and punched him, well..at least tried to. He just dodged. I kept trying with him dodging every time and me with my irritation growing. Suddenly he paused, this was my chance! But he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at the sky. "What the h-" He started, i was still to annoyed and punched him hard." JEEZ" he shouted rubbing his chin. I innocently smiled at him before running off giggling. Revenge felt good.

Jaden kept chasing me but I was too fast, or so I thought, I stopped at a tree thinking I lost him.Just then I was tackled and I screamed. I heard giggling again-Gwen!!- and a light chuckle coming from Jaden. I just growled again."yep, your head over heels for him" Gwen teased once again laughing her head off.No not literally, i wish. "Over who?" Jaden replied joining in the game. Ugh, One things for sure now..JADEN IS TERRIBLE AT ACTING!. I just face planted and remained there for a while not bothering to get up, besides..the grass was actually surprisingly quite soft. Jaden and Gwen continued to laugh as my eyelids slowly shut closed. I was weary and exhausted from running around like a headless chicken. " Night" i murmured into the grass before closing my eyes fully.
