Chapter 9- Confession

"Haru, I.." Kila couldn't bring herself to say it. Her heart pounded furiously in her chest. She took a deep breath. 'Just do it, tell him.' Yumi mouthed to her, sensing what was coming. "Okay." Kila spoke to herself. She took another long breath in. "Haru.. I really, really like you. A-And I understand if you don't feel the same way, or don't trust me! I-I understand.. If I were you I probably wouldn't trust me either, since-" Kila realized she was rambling and looked down, silently, trembling. 'Just say something already..!' Kila thought. The silence was killing her. "You idiot.." Haru mumbled to her, picking her chin up so their eyes met, then hugging her. "What..?" Kila whispered into his shoulder. "Of course I like you, doofus." He held her tightly, and a quiet hissing sound was made as his wings expanded slightly. Kila didn't realize she had been holding her breath as she exhaled. She let her head rest on his shoulder, feeling secure. This was a new start for Kila, a chance to prove herself to those who still doubted her, and she was determined to do just that. (This chapter seems really short to me- sorry ;-;)
