Chapter 8- End of the War
All at once cheers and screams rang out all across the main hall. Kila looked down, off of the stage, at people hugging and squealing to each other. They had forgiven her! This had turned out better than Kila had hoped. She began looking through the crowd for Mika, and spotted her as she ran up the steps of the stage. Kila wrapped her arms around Mika, and both girls held each other tightly. Mika then pulled back, smiling. "Kila.. I'm so glad you did this! I'm so proud of you." Mika beamed. "We all are, Kila." Said a small voice from behind. Kila turned to see Yumi, Haru, and Tara standing there together. Tara met Kila's eye, and they held a long, silent stare. Tara broke the tension by giving a small, grateful smile- which caught Kila off guard. "Kila.. We got off to a rough start, and I'm sorry. Me, Yumi, and Haru couldn't thank you enough." Mika nudged her arm gently. "No, I only did what was right." Kila moved forwards and gave Tara a quick, but tight, hug. Stepping back, Kila realized that she had forgotten something. She ran, smiling, to Haru, who embraced her warmly. "I really can't thank you enough, Haru," Kila said, looking him in the eyes. "You don't need to! I'm proud of you." His bright, almost pastel eyes met hers and they locked. The sounds of the cheering seemed yo fade away as Kila looked into his eyes. 'What're you doing to me...?' Kila thought to herself. She awkwardly looked away. "There's.. actually something I should tell you, Haru." He examined her closely. "You look sad.. what is it?" He lifted her chin up.
