Nightmares (Sonic X Jackie)

"Sonic!" Jackie squealed waking up, gasping and sweaty. She was shaking. She tried reach to Hernandez bedside table to grab the glass of water but ended up knocking it over. She watched lazily as it sloshed onto the carpet. Suddenly the door bursts open and Sonic stood in the door way panicked.
"Jackie! Are you-" He pauses when he saw the state she was in and his eyes softened. He walked and sat next to her on her bed. He brushed a stray hair out of her face. "You look like you've seen a ghost," He chuckled. "Was it the nightmare again?" Jackie nodded silently enjoying his company. Sonic breathed slowly as he looked to the door way then back to Jackie then back to the doorway. "Here." Sonic crawled into the bed with Jackie and sat her into his lap. He slowly rocked her in silence. "I'm staying here tonight, I'm not letting you have anymore nightmares." He muttered. Jackie would have protested but her eye lids had already started to feel like lead and Sonic was really soft. She let her eyes closed whispering a content thank you.

So the couple sat in the dark. Sonic continued to rock Jackie through the night, even though it was 3am. Jackie was silent, she shifted in Sonic's arms every so often but that was it. Until the clocked struck 4. Jackie started to whimper and struggled against the blue hedgehog. Sonic quickly snapped out of his gaze and pulled her closer to him. But it was hopeless.
"S-Sonic!" He cried as she started to cry. "Please! Don't leave me!" Sonic frowned. He lent his forehead against hers and smiled.
"Never. I'll never leave you."

In Jackie's head she could see everything getting ripped away from her that she loved getting ripped away from her by the same giant figure who haunts her nightmares. It strolled towards Jackie with a smile of happiness but his aura was evil and sickening. It wasn't now in the door way. On the table next to it had lay Jackie's music. He slowly reached out and touched it and poof. It was gone. He started to creepily gain speed tracing his hand ont he wall. The framed pictures that hung along the wall slowly started to disintegrate one by one. The memories did too. The framed smiles of family, friends, children and Sonic melted into nothing. The figure glanced at Jackie once again before snapping his fingers. Two children sat in the middle of the rooms floor. Jackie recognised them in an instant.
"Mummy?" The youngest called. The figure laid two hand in their heads and then. They were gone. Jackie cried out and tried to move, run. But she was paralysed in fear. This continued until there was only one person left in Jackies life. Sonic appeared in front of Jackie. His eyes closed and fists clenched. The figure stood behind him smiling cruelly. Sonic opened his eyes and looked at Jackie with concern.
"Sonic!" Jackie gasped reaching out to caress his cheek with her thumb. "Please! Don't leave me!" Sonic's hand reached out and lightly grazed Jackies hand. The figured reached out a long broken figure and touched Sonic's shoulder. Sonic flinched. But he didn't disappear. He pulled Jackie into a tight hug.
"Never. I'll never leave you."

Jackie jolted upwards towards Sonic who looked surprised.
"Hey, Jackie, you alright?" He asked shifting his weight. "I'm sorry, I couldn't stop your nightmare, I thought if I-" Jackie cut him off with a soft kiss.
"You did everything right, Sonic" She smiled.
"So no more nightmares?" He asked raising an eyebrow. She shook her head.
"No more nightmares."
