The mark that binds us- A Fairy Tail fanfic

I can hear them. Faint voices begging, trying to reason me to let them out, to bad. It was their choice. But I am not hear to tell you the present or future, but to tell you the tale of the Woodwind sisters, their foolish choices. Maybe once you hear their story, you will side with me, or perhaps, the idiotic choice, with them. For this journey, I must ignore the four voices, but in advance I will warn you that I might get distracted with their feeble pleas. Now, let us fly back into the past, year 772.

Now we have begun.

Now we have begun. Time has passed, and the sisters are now 5 years of age. Their father forgets about them so they have been taken care of by the villagers. They still sleep at their house, and at night their father tells them that they should be a celestial wizard, a light wizards, a wood make wizard and an Arkive wizard. They grew tired of listening to that so they changed their names. Dappled Light became Yanade, Wood Spirit became Eirate, Devine Cosmos became Petra and Ancient Wisdom became Sanlief. They were much more intelligent an mature than the other kids, so they felt with that well. And even though they were twins and clones, they were not all alike.
        Yanade has short, fluffy, golden-brown hair and blue eyes. She is kind and determined.
        Eirate has long, strait brown hair and dark brown eyes. She is judging and silent, but she loves history and the tales of heroes.
        Petra has wavy brown hair an hazel eyes. She is usually serious and likes teasing her sisters.
        Sanlief has short, straight, light brown hair and green eyes. She is cheerful and likes playing pranks.
        They all love reading and are very protective of each other, though they fight amongst themselves quite often. But today is different, today they don’t fight, today, they will leave.

                                                    * * *

This is the time of year when all the Lavutian magic teachers gather to gain and choose students. This time the Woodwinds will get picked.
        HA! I can all most see you frown in confusion, ‘Why must they be Lavutian?’ you ask.
To answer your question, it is because the Lavutians all carry around a utility belt filled with medical herbs. The children must be taught by those who know the herbs so the tradition can continue, at least, that’s what we believe.
        At the Woodwind house, the sisters don green or blue t-shirts, shorts and a cape. They are each hoping to find a teacher, one who excels at a certain type of magic. Yanade hopes to learn storm or wind magic, Petra hopes for teleportation and memory magic and Sanlief wishes for lightning. Eirate is different. She has started to read and learn Time Ark from a stack of books she keeps hidden, she will be there solely for support.
       So they set off.

                                                 * * *

That night Eirate sits alone, in their room, crying and lonely.
      “I hoped they had been chosen, for their sake, but now… I just want them back.”
      She picks up a Time Ark book she had brought home from her stash.
      “The next time I see them, I will know magic.” She grins, wipes her tears from her eyes and starts to read. The next day, she goes to a non magic class on herbs, at night she studies.
      Mean while, Yanade is faced with 3 other students of her teacher, all competing for attention. They are all older than her and they look down at her when they true up a windy mountain.
       “Could we rest bit? Please?” Yanade looks hopefully at her Sensei, Rowan Tempete.
       “No, we must reach my home by nightfall so the wolves do not fall upon us, and I do not want to have to protect you wimpy children who can not defend themselves.” He said without looking back.
        “ Why’d he even want students?” One of the children mutter.
WOOSH!!
From the town square to a comfy home with a fireplace, she traveled in no time. Her teacher is resting in a chair.
       “The first time you’ve teleported hun?” Petra’s sensei, Minsin Ceurvo asks.
      “ Yes” Petra replies, breathless.
      “Well there’s plenty of time to get used to it.” Minsin says and smiles, her smiles bright.
      Poor Sanlief, I’ve left her last as always. But she was not forgotten.
      Her new teacher has not yet revealed his face, he wears a cloak that hides his face in shadow. They are making their way a cross a long, treeless field with a small, metal house that lies in the middle. As they draw closer, Sanlief notices that big metal poles are sticking out from the roof.
      At the same time, all the sisters think of each other and sigh.
