She'd made her decision.
It had been a week since the encounter with Christopher Joeseph. The assassins must have given up on the search for the two women.
As the streaks of dawn bled into the sky, Alex's forest green eyes fluttered open. Immediately after awakening, she began to examine the wound on Skye's chest.
It was mirculous that Skye had managed to pull through. A wound like this would have usually taken one's life without proper care and months of recovery. But thankfully, the woman had managed to recover enough.
And when she awoke, Skye was standing on her feet for the first time in days.
"Skye, we have to talk.", Alex spoke, motioning for her to sit down.
Skye sat, and nodded softly.
"I want to join the soldiers. But you have to join me, too. Which means you have to go back to being 'Roger'.
The blonde nodded eagerly and wasted no time. She immediately went behind some nearby bushes and changed into her uniform, which had thankfully been cleaned by her friend. She returned seconds later, giving a joyous salute.
"I shall get you a uniform too, Alex."
The brown haired woman nodded gratefully.
"Come on, then. Let's go. I'm sure that Christopher Joeseph's bloody band of deviants will be too afraid to mess with us once we're soldiers!"
"Yeah! And if he is foolish enough to do so, we shall give him what he deserves.", Skye added.
The two began to walk back to the area in which the soldiers had set up camp. As they traveled, Skye looked up at Alex.
"Alex, I think I like being a boy better than being a girl... Can you call me Roger again?"
The brown haired woman nodded. She wasn't used to her friend being a man after all of these years, but she was willing to accept it. Now that Skye was no longer hiding from her, she didn't really mind, after all.
