Curious Eyes
Evelynn Audrey Peterson had two best friends since 4th grade named Paisley and Pandora. Pandora was more stylish than the other two and always knew the fashion trends and when something was a fashion no. Paisley on the other hand was one to play lots of sports and to take a daily nap in class, she also loved pranking with Evelynn. Last but not least, Evelynn was the type of girl to dip her toe into all sort of things and see if she liked doing it. That's how she found her passion. Musical Theater.+++
I barely walked out of the house to catch the bus before I saw it skip my stop and zoom on by. Great, I'm going to be late on the first day of school. *BEEP BEEP* As I turned to my right, I stopped walking at the sight of my guy best friend opening the car door and inviting me in for a ride to school. "M'Lady." Red said. I roll my eyes and play along dramatically, "Oh my sweet prince! Why thank you!" I give him a deadpan look before we both crack up. We get to school just in time for me to get to my locker to grab my books and slip into Math, I calmly walk towards the back but stop and turn in my tracks as I hear, "You're late." Phew, just some other kid who walked in seconds behind me. I snuck into the seat next to Paisley at the very back and took out my Algebra 2 textbook along with a fresh journal and a pencil. I feel like someone is staring at me in the middle of class and I look up from my head start on the homework to see a few heads turn away from me some hiding snickers. What can I say? I'm smart, no need to stare and laugh at me.

By the time I get to lunch, I feel like my every move has been watched by those people from earlier. I didn't get a good enough look to see who they were sadly enough. I sat down at an empty table just to have 3 more food trays plunk down beside me. As I glance up, I see an unfamiliar face staring down at me, smirking. Ofcourse he's smirking, that's what all typical bad boy cute guys do in my fictional stories. He sits down right next to me with two other new faces just as I look to see my friends my friends look around for me. I go to get up when I hear "Where you going, Princess?" Turning to see which person is speaking to me I say, "I am NOT your princess!" I reply scathingly to the typical fictional guy from earlier. A hand wraps over my mouth and the other is placed on my shoulder as Red comes up behind me. "She's mine." He says simply. I give him a bewildered look before masking it with a smile and walking away towards our other friends. "Looks like Red saved you from some trouble over there. But dang, you should've let me replace you. Those guys are HOT!" Pandora comments. I roll my eyes at her love for the guys who just hit on me. "Those three are new here, and some other kid, so play nice, Pan." Paisley says as she reaches out to ruffle her hair. "Paisley, you know not to touch the hair." Pandora replies waving her finger around as we sit at another empty table.
Both of them giggle, making me laugh obnoxiously along with them. "So what are we doing after school today? FruitQue?" Red randomly asks. FruitQue is our favorite place to get smoothies after school. I hear an Ooooh escape from my mouth and murmurs of agreement from my right. I look over to where I was to see Typical Fiction boy staring at me like I'm art. "I'm gonna go find something to read in the library, k?" I say as I get up to throw my trash away. "We'll see ya later at FruitQue!" is my only reply.

Wandering through the library was almost like walking through the corn maze at the annual Fall Fair. I twisted around the corner and spotted one of my two favorite series. You might be thinking, oh it's Harry Potter, but that's my other favorite. This one is Percy Jackson. I slide a hand on either side of the series and take them out all together. As I saw beautiful grey eyes, I stared at them and they stared back before regaining myself and walking to the check out counter. I got them under my name and sat down at one of the tables and opened the book on top. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif. I opened the book and got submersed into the mythological tale of the Greek. The bell rung and only then I realized someone was sitting across from me and had grabbed the second book and wasn't even reading it. "Nice try, Stranger. But hand over the book." I put my hand out for it and he places it in my hand and gives me a charming smile, "Name's Charlie, not Stranger." I laugh at his blunt comment. "Thank you, but next time, don't steal my book." I wink at him teasingly before walking off with my stack of books.

Finally. The day is done, and I can go to FruitQue. I walk there knowing it's only a short one; but as I do, I hear wolf whistles from a car at the stoplight I just crossed. Ew. I know I'm pretty, but I wouldn't say I'm worth wolf whistling hot. I walk in and trade $7 for my drink with my favorite cashier; My mom. I thank her before sliding into a large booth next to Paisley and across from Pandora, leaving Red in the opposite corner. I reach up to fiddle with my necklace while we make small talk when the newbies walk in. I let my face harshly connect with the table as an attempt to hide myself. "Ugh." I groan.
I hear Pandora adjusting herself so she looks cuter and shortly after a curse word slips from a newbie's mouth. I lift my head and glare at them before slurping my Raspberry Banana smoothie ungracefully. "What's with the hatred for those hotties?" Pandora asked. I stare at her with a face that says are-you-stupid? "They hit on me at lunch today, don't you remember?" I complain. "Ev, sweetheart, they're just boys!" She responds in a motherly tone. "And what am I then?" Red questions. Paisley shrugged and said nonchalantly, "A girl." "OOOOOH!" came the happy hoots of the four at the cash register. Charlie took one look at me and asked calmly, "Can I borrow Sea of Monsters?" His three friends looked between us just like my three friends did. "When did you two meet?" came the voice of the curious dark eyes I looked up to at lunch. "At lunch, where the smart people go to read." I snap back. He blinked at me, stunned before assuming his cool composure, "Salty..." came his sassy response. I pulled my flat billed hat down and muttered, "I am SO done with you."
