Percy Jackson-Leo's Return.

Percy Jackson-Leo's Return.

What if after BoO, Leo disappeared? One year later, after being out on his own for so long, he would be a very, very different person... Since BoO has just come out, just... try not to think about the differences between this and the actual book. I started writing this before BoO came out. Just assume that BoO didn't happen as it did. Yep, that's right, ladies. No Calypso. Leo is free!

The Prophecy

~Annabeth P.O.V~
I couldn't believe it'd only been a year since The Second Great Prophecy (or The Prophecy of Seven for Romans, and I honestly prefer that name).  Everything was going on so normally, it was as if nothing had ever happened.  The only proof was the mark on my arm and my new Roman friends.  We had just finished a game of capture the flag after Jason and I had been teaching each other the different sword fighting techniques from Greece and Rome.  We were on the same team for the game, and no one had expected us to use a mix of jabs and swipes to win.  I had let Jason grab the flag because he had never done it before, and I'd done it hundreds of times.
I was alone at the Poseidon table eating dinner, onto desert now; blue ice cream and blue Coke.  I couldn't believe I still liked that stuff.
The fire blazed yellow with the mood of the crowd.  I was too tired to be up right now.  I hadn't slept in three days, and I thought I was starting to hallucinate.  I got up to go back to my cabin and rest when I saw Rachel walking towards the tables.  Her eyes glowed green and a ring of the same colored mist swirled around her.  she stood, waiting for me.  No one else seemed to see her, so I went up to her.  I knew I would be getting a prophecy form her while she was possessed by the spirit of the Oracle of Delphi.
I stood alone as she spoke in a raspy voice,
"The Joker, the Broken, the Hero combined, to travel West and must find, the item which the Joker lost, hidden deep beneath the frost, the Broken finds a plan to save, the Hero finds an opened grave."  She collapsed as soon as the last word escaped her mouth and the green smoke left her.  This happened every time she spoke a prophecy, so I was prepared and caught her.  I brought her to the porch of the Big House and laid her there on a chair.  Hopefully that wouldn't look suspicious.
I was pretty sure she had just authorized me a quest, so I would have to find Chiron and tell him.  Then I needed to find out who the Joker, the Broken, and the Hero were.  I was no hero, so that wasn't me.  I wasn't necessarily broken, no more than any other demigod, that is.  I was no joker, either, but I did know one.  He was the only one of the seven that hadn't come back...  Maybe he would.
I lumbered back to my cabin, trying to avoid everyone, and slumped into bed.  At least I didn't have any siblings in here to bug me.  Sadly, I did have a really great, sweet girlfriend that always pokes her nose into my business and makes it all better.  And here she comes now.
Annabeth knocked on the door and opened it without waiting for an answer like she always does.  I didn't mind; I needed her right now.  Someone who I could talk to and they wouldn't judge me or think less of me or think I'm insane all together.
"Hey."  She said quietly as she walked in.  Her rubbery tennis shoes squeaked on the floor with every step.
"Hey."  I responded, too tired to get up.  "Do you think I'm broken, a joker, or a hero?"  She looked at me for a second.
"Hero.  Definitely."  She said surely.  She always says what you want to hear.
"Thanks, but really, you don't have to be nice to me."  I responded.
"Seriously.  I wouldn't call you anything else, except maybe Seaweed Brain."  She sat down on the bed next to me. "Why?"  I told her about my encounter with the Oracle, and my suspicions of Leo.
"Nico might be the Broken.  Leo could show up and be the Joker, and you are the Hero.  The prophecy was given to you, after all.  Usually the leader gets the prophecy."  She thought aloud.
"The prophecy usually comes after the issued quest, not before we know there even is a quest.  And if I AM the hero, I don't want to be.  An opened grave doesn't sound good."  I was so tired.
Annabeth studied me for a minute.  "You don't look too good."  She observed.
"Whamu meann?"  I mumbled while my eyes rolled back into my head and I started to fall backwards into my pillow.  My head fell backwards slowly until I snapped myself awake again.
"That.  You look like you belong in the Hypnos cabin."   She giggled a little, then lied down in the bed she was in.  I gave her a confused look as she removed her shoes.  Then her shirt.
"Relax, Seaweed Brain."  She said, pulling on a pajama top I hadn't seen she had.  She pulled off her jeans and put on baggy blue bottoms that didn't match her red shirt.  She pulled out the covers and slid under them.
"I put a note in my bed that said I was in the Poseidon cabin.  Then I told Piper to cover for me."  She looked at me and smiled.  "Don't look so surprised."  She giggled.  She was so happy to be here, I couldn't just fall asleep on her.
"Gimme a sec."  I said, then rolled out of bed and pulled myself towards the saltwater fountain at the back of the room.  I ducked my whole head under and blew bubbles, letting my face and hair get wet instead of stay dry underwater like I normally do.  I flung my head up and sprayed water all over the floor.
"I'm awake."  I clarified, and Annabeth laughed and got out of bed.  She kissed me, even though I don't think she liked the taste of saltwater all over me.  She pulled back and smiled at me,
"Good night, Seaweed Brain." Then flopped back into bed.  I did the same, and I'm pretty sure I stared at her all night.  She's so beautiful when she sleeps, always smiling, and her hair looks good messy, and her eyelashes flutter every once in a while.  She's so beautiful.
