Note (l)
Lola had emerged from the drug store with her items and proceeded home. She arrived to see her mother lay, cold and dead, clutching a note for Lola. And it read:My dear, sweet, Lola, all is in pain as I write this... But you need to know the truth. When you were born, I kept you and your twin separated until you two were three. Yes, you are an identical twin to Sasha Pollington, no, I did not have cancer when you and her were born. Your father and I believe l got it because I sent her to him in London. You need to find them, I love you and I am so sorry. I'll be waiting for you in heaven or hell or not... I love you.
Hot tears started streaming down her face as she read it again. She wasn't sure if her mother was delusional or truthful, but that final note gave her hope that she wasn't going to be alone after this death. She will find her twin! She knew she could do it. And what impacted her next, and that took her breath away, was that her dad was with her twin!!! Her mother had never spoken about her father, then again, she had separated Sasha and her forever now. "Wait a minute", she thought, "could Sasha have been the girl I ran into on my shopping venture for my mother? She looked like a clone of me, or I was like a clone of her. If father was with her, he must have told her about me sometime. I must find her in the phone listings!"
