chapter 2, part 1: The Makeover
Thursday, June 26, 2014 8:34 pmSo I looked up what a party is on Google, like what Hunter told me. And apparently a party is a gathering of people who have been invited by a host for the purposes of socializing, conversation, recreation or as part of a festival, and will typically feature food and beverages, and often music and dancing or other forms of entertainment.
parties sound pretty fun! But what ISN'T fun is being dolled up tomorrow with Cassie and Sarah! There's no telling WHAT those socialites would do to me. But apparently we're going shopping and then we're gonna spend the night at Cassie's-she lives closer to Hunter- and get ready there. I don't necessarily mind, but I've never really spent much time with socialites before. And if I spend too much time with them, I tend to ramble and say a ton of embarrassing things. And before I knew it, I hear my doorbell ring. Ii open it to find-
"Dad?"I barely choked the word out before he pushed me to the ground and stalked away, muttering about me under his breath. well, it could have been worse. At least it used to be. I decided that I needed to get out of here before it actually does get worse. I text Cassie and ask her where her house is because I'm coming over early. She quickly texted me her address. It's not too far by foot. So I quickly snuck out of the front door and jogged for a bit. Quick enough to leave in time but slow enough to not look suspicious. After about two minutes, I find where Cassie's house is. It's a nice, normal looking 2 story home. I gently knocked on the door. When Cassie saw it was me, a huge smile spread across her face. "What brings you by so early? The spa day doesn't start until tomorrow. Not that I mind though. Just a bit curious."
I smiled back "I just had to get away from my crazy family for a while" I easily lied. I didn't want to put all my business out there, what if I can't trust her???
"OK, well come on in, then. I'll let my mom know you're here. She's making cupcakes and other sweets in the kitchen."
"That's why it smells like Starbucks in here" I said as I stepped in, causing us both to laugh. Her house looked absolutely chic[for those who pronounce it as "chick", it's actually pronounced as "sheek"]and gorgeous. It was very-well decorated like something from The Sims. I looked around in wonder as she lead me down the hall to meet her mom.
"Your mom is nice, right" I asked as I walked behind her.
"The woman bakes cookies and cakes for a living," Cassie smirked as she glanced back at me. "There's no way she can be evil!"
"You never know, she could be like that witch in Hansel and Gretel! She could use that as a cover-up to gain our trust and love, then bake us!"
"What?"
"Did I stutter?"
"omg. But we're here" Cassie gestured to a pretty brown-haired petite lady who looked to be in her early thirties. "Mom, meet Jane, Jane meet mom"
Before I was aware of my actions, I made a cross-sign with my hands and backed away. "PLEASE DO NOT BAKE ME INTO AN APPLE FRITTER! I JUST MADE A FRIEND AND I DON'T WISH TO DIE!!!"
While Cassie face-palmed, the mom laughed.
How is my fear of being baked FUNNY?!?!?!
"I like this one Cassie. But anyway, my name is Amelia, but just call me Amy. I promise I am not going to bake you into an apple fritter."
"Sorry we got off on the wrong foot, Amy. I've never had friends before, so I don't know what to say to their moms when we meet."
"A pretty girl like you, never had friends? Are you serious?"
Before I could reply back, Cassie broke in.
"The three real witches made it hard for her by picking on her on a daily basis. I would have talked to Jane earlier, but I was scared of them. But now I really don't care."
"Oh, well Cassie nice job on making such a funny and creative friend. You girls go hang out. Dinner will be ready in one hour. And Jane you can stay as long as you need, baby."
"Thanks Amy" I said as I ran upstairs with Cassie.
We went up a small winding staircase to a hall of rooms.
"I want you to meet my sister Cheryl. She doesn't look like me because she takes after my dad."
We walked to a room with "Cheryl" printed on the door with rainbows and unicorns as decorations. Cassie knocked on the door. A little girl at about the age of 7 ran into Cassie and gave her a hug. From what I could see, the room looked like what a typical kids' room should. Bed, Tv, toys strung out with a table and kitchen set.
"Cheryl, this is my friend Jane. Jane, meet Cheryl."
"Hi Jane! Maybe we can do something fun because all Cassie does is stay in her room on her computer all day!"
"I DO NOT! I leave to eat."
"wait," I broke in. "You don't use the bathroom?"
"I have a side bathroom in my room."
"oh, ok. Well Cheryl you're out of luck because I do the same thing sorry."
"Oh, that's fine. some of my friends are coming over tomorrow."
"That's nice" I replied as Cassie dragged me to her room.
Cassie has a nice room. A full sized bed in the middle, vanity and bathroom to the left, walk-in closet to the right.
"I just got an amazing idea" Cassie squealed as we sat on her couch.
"Ooh! What is it?!" I was dying to know.
"Maybe you, me, and Sarah can overthrow the Britney's!!!"
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND, CASS?!
"Nope, all we need is a little makeover, and BAM, we can be glamourous like them! But we won't abuse our popularity."
"That's actually... A STUPID IDEA. One does not simply overthrow the Britney's!"
"Oh, but one can, and one will. I'm gonna call over Sarah!"
