Chapter Five
Pow ran up to Piv. “Piv, what the Frick!? You have to keep your smart-a** mouth under control because otherwise one day you’re going to find yourself in 15 different parts of the room!”“Shut up Pow, I had it under control.” She said,
“Was this before or after she put a fricking gun in your mouth? I don’t know, I’m not an egotistical jerk who can see through everyone.” Piv curled her fist and punched Pow straight in the jaw. He recoiled but threw another punch at her. Fox jumped up and stopped Piv from ramming her fist into his chest. He yelled,
“Stop guys! This isn’t doing anything.”
“No it isn’t. Neither was being a show-off.” He said pointedly at Piv.
“Shut up, if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t know if anything about any of our clients!” Piv spat back,
“Okay, you’ve had your go at each other. You’ve thrown a punch, insulted each other. Now can you guys stop fighting and actually get something done?” Fox said, The twins stared at Fox with shock. Fox always sounded like someone who wouldn’t get involved in fights. But now he was stopping two outlaws from fighting with each other.
“You’re right, we should begin working on the plan.” Pow said, Piv sighed and picked up the camera.
“I’ll go check out the warehouse.” She didn’t walk towards the door, she went to the window and jumped out.
“Is she just going to go alone?” Fox asked Pow. He nodded,
“Whenever she’s mad she goes out that window to do something away from anyone.”
“Do you mind if I say that she’s sort-of a jerk?” Pow scoffed and smiled to himself as he said,
“No I don’t mind, I agree. She didn’t really have a lot of social interaction. I remember she was the loner when we were about 5.”
“Did the other kids at your school like her?” Fox asked, watching as Pow took out a whiteboard marker.
“Neither of us went to school. Well, we were forced into schooling. Then we were drowning in debt so we arranged a plan to escape. But the rendezvous point was messed up and we ended up going in different directions.”
“How’d you meet each other again?” Fox asked gazing at the picture that Mrs. Lara gave them.
“We went to jail.” He said bluntly, “Actually, juvenile detention but we call it jail anyway.” Fox rolled his eyes,
“I should’ve known. And you broke out again?” He asked, Pow smiled and pointed the marker at him,
“You’re catching on.” He took the cap off and wrote on the board, ‘Missile Mission.’ Fox started to laugh and Pow looked at him,
“What else was I supposed to write?” He asked, Fox shrugged before freezing mid-laugh. “What?” Pow asked,
“Wait, who’s Ehdu?” Fox asked, Pow raised his eyebrow,
“Why?” Fox folded his arms,
“It’s not like I ignore the arguments you guys have.” Pow rolled his eyes and turned back towards the board.
“No one,”
“Piv doesn’t seem to think that it’s no one.” Pow sighed and banged his head once on the board,
“Ehdu is a girl who used to come to the club downstairs. Coincidentally, she wanted to join our team. I was thinking about it until Piv had to go and tell her downright no. Now I chew her out for it a lot because she had only met Ehdu once and was telling her that she couldn’t join.” Pow looked at Fox, “That the answer you wanted?” Fox shook his head,
“I was expecting something a little more dangerous. One question, wouldn’t Piv already know who she was because of the whole ‘I know who you are in just a glance’ thing?” Pow shrugged,
“It’s still not right.” Fox didn’t answer. “Should Piv be back by now?” He said after moments of silence,
“She probably would have if she really wanted to. But I don’t think she really wants to interact with anyone yet.” Just then, there was a knock on the window. The two looked up to see Piv with the video camera. But her eye was a bit banged up.
“Piv!” Pow shouted and ran to the window.
“I’m fine dude. Nothing happened, I walked into a fricking pole.” Pow raised his eyebrows but Piv glared back at him. “On the other hand, I figured out how their security system worked.” She took out the camera. We crowded around the small screen. There’s a big green door, two people guard it.
“So do we need a diversion again?” Pow asks,
“No, watch the rest of the video.” Then they turn around and walk inside the doors, two more people come out.
“So, what does that have to do with anything?” Fox asked,
“It means that even if we distract the first two guards, there are still two more on the inside.” Pow explained,
“I think we need disguises,” Piv starts, she stops the video and pulls out her computer. She connects the camera to it and transfers the video. Once she’s done that, she points to the guards. “You can pull off that age, right Pow?” She asked, he nodded.
“What shoulder I do?” Fox asked, Piv thinks,
“Maybe you can help? That would be great.” She says sarcastically. Pow punches her shoulder,
“Can you go and get some snacks? Then we’ll fill you in on everything we’ve done so far.” Fox shrugged, on the inside he was quite disappointed. He had just arrived in Spaksar from the most dangerous and exciting thing he’d ever done in his whole life. Running from the cops, and now he was picking up snacks for a duo of troublemakers. He had to say that he expected a little more pizzaz. He should’ve been more careful over what he wished for.
