The (Only) Reason

So, this is your reward, as promised.
Some of you may have been wondering why exactly Ella hates Lauren, so here's why. A little story from Ella's point of view. I hope you like it!


I don't remember the first time I met Lauren. Well, how could I? I was only a baby. I don't remember when I started hating her either. I was very young then, too.

Luke and Lauren have been best friends for years. They've been best friends since before I was born.
Apparently, their friendship began when Lauren and her family first moved to our neighbourhood. I've heard this story so many times, and it makes me want to get sick.

Basically, Luke and Lauren were about three when they met. They became best friends instantly. You know, the usual three-year-old friendship. They played in the grass, tried to climb trees, Luke proposed to Lauren, they had their own secret language.

Luke has asked me SO MANY times about why I hate Lauren, but I never told him. He's given up. He hates me now. Well, I hate him, for liking that...I'm actually not allowed swear, so I can't tell you what I think of her.

I'll explain to you, though. I have a few reasons why I hate Lauren.

I used to hate her because I know that Luke is in love with her. It's REALLY obvious! But not to her, because she's so stupid. I used to hate her because she can't see how crazy Luke is about her.

I used to hate her because she spends LOTS of time with Luke and - even though I CAN'T BELIEVE I'm admitting this - she's really pretty. I thought Luke preferred her to me. Now I know for certain that Luke prefers her to me. I kind of care, but no one else knows.

My main reason now is because she acts all kind and everything, but I see right through it. I can tell that she's actually really mean and hates lots of people and just wants to insult everyone she sees. She even pretends to be nice to me! I'd actually prefer if she was horrible to me. It would make me feel better about myself.

So, that's it. Why I hate the girl that my brother is in love with. He'll give up on her eventually though. At least that's what I'm begging will happen.
