Arrival

Laurane's POV
It's been at least a day, if not, it's sure felt like it. I slept in the back room and barricaded the doors and windows, just in case. Yet I haven't seen anyone, not even a zombie around here. A faint knock came from the door. Not a thumb like before, but a knock.
"Please! If someone's in there! You have to let me in!" I hear the desperate girl and make my way slowly to the door. I open it to see a blue hedgehog.

Sapphire's POV
I ran. I had to run. I didn't know where Surge or Lilac were so I just ran. I left them. I'm sorry. I came across a small cafe. I try to peak through the window but it's been boarded up. Maybe someone's inside? I knock on the door. A wolf at opened the door looking at me suspiciously.
"Laurane?"
"Sapphire?" She opens the door wider and I walk inside sniffling.
"Thank god it was you in here" I mutter and slump down. But Laurane stays standing.
"Your not...bitten are you?" She asks raising an eyebrow.
"No, no I didn't get near those disgusting things"
"Good. I'm waiting for some friends to show up here. I'll ask if you can come with us"
I gratefully nod as she pulls out her phone and starts texting.

Carlos' POV
We sat in the back what seemed like forever. We shared the food Jackie and Maria had in their backpacks which occupied us for a while, I wanted to know Laurane was okay. Just as the thought crossed my mind my phones buzzed, Laurane had texted me. 'Someone else is here, can they come too?' 'Sure'. A few hours later is when we arrived in front of a small cafe and Sunni was the first to jump out and run to the door. I followed.
"Hey Laurane!" She yelled. A blue hedgehog opened the door a crack.
"You know Laurane?" She asked. Sunni nodded. She opens the door smiling and pointed to the back room. Laurane peeks out and smiled when she saw us.
"Thought I'd never see you again." I say grinning. We all hugged and she gestures to the hedgehog girl.
"Carlos, Sunni, this is Sapphire, an old friend of mine." Maria jumps out the car seconds later and glomps the poor girl.
"SAPPHIRE!"
"Maria!" Jackie walks out and laughs.
"Awesome to see your safe!"
"You too" Sapphire replies. I guess they know eachother. I check her over to see if she was bitten. Nope. We all climb into the back of the truck and Aideen shuffles so he's next to her.
"Hey, I'm Aideen. I think I'm the only person who hasn't introduced themselves yet.." Sapphire laughes and introduces herself too as we start to drive off again.
"Where are we going now?" Sunni asks leaning through the gap separating the open back from the drivers part.
"Well-" Maria starts but is cut of by Jackie breaking harshly.
"Out of gas!" She curses and slouches in her seat.
"Damn it" I say jumping out of the back. "I guess we have to walk until we find another car?" Laurane nods.
"We still have people to look for. I texted Tundra a while ago and she didn't answer, I'm worried about her. We'll head for her next!"

Aideen's POV
I chatted with Sapphire while Carlos and Laurane tried to settle on a plan of action. Sapphire leaned in the gap to talk to Maria and Jackie so I turn to Carlos.
"Hey, Carlos?"
"Yeah?" He asks. I jump out the back of the truck.
"Do you think they'll ever find a cure?" Carlos sighs.
"I guess, we just have to hope" he gives me a shaky smile. Sapphire, Maria and Jackie jump out the truck.
"Let's go" Jackie announces and we head off down the road. After about an hour of walking we neared a corner. Carlos was the first to turn the corner. He ran back in seconds.
"Get back!" He whispers. "They're everywhere! They're mostly gathered round a hotel over there?" I raise an eyebrow and pear round the corner. I see a familer face in the window. Harley!
"Harley! Harley is in there! We need to help him!" I whisper. Everyone shares a look and agrees. Thinking quickly Maria uses her telekinesis to pick up a rock and throw it at the window of another building. A figure runs out of the building. It wasn't Harley.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" The female wolf-fox whispered as she ran towards us.
"Your not Harley" I say looking her up and down.
"Harley? Oh Harley! He's upstairs! You have to get him!" Her sudden out burst caught the attention of the zombie herd. I clench my fists letting fire spread through out the crowd but once they're all dust I try to stop the fire. It blazed brighter.
"Okay, Aid, you can stop now" Sunni says shaking my shoulder.
"I can't!"
"I got this!" Jackie says. She closes her eyes and slowly lifts her hands. The fire sways and crackles as the wind around us howls. Soon it was strong enough to blow out the fire completely and Jackie opens her eyes looking accomplished.
"Sorry..." I mutter.
"Don't worry about it" She says waving it off. "Let's get Harley"
