Temple of the Forgotten

There are people in this world, very few of them, who have the abilities to defy gravity, test reality, and entirely break the laws of physics. They were helpful. They saved lives. They were accepted and treated as normal people, but people change. They turn on you. They cheat, lie, but they took it to another level. They soon began treating them like animals. But a small group of people wanted to help them. Save them. They erased their memories and sent them to an island, not yet discovered by the rest of humanity. It seems like a paradise at first, but in reality, it is crawling with demons, monsters, vengeful spirits. In order to create a safe, peaceful place to live, they have to fight these creatures. Even if it means putting their lives on the line...

With the help of Google Maps, they soon arrived at Jaiden and Sam's apartment. Jaiden lifted Sam from the back seat and carried him up the stairs sack-of-potatoes style, shooting a glare towards anyone who stared at them.
When they got to the apartment, Jaiden dropped Sam into Ellie's arms without warning, unlocked the door for her, did a sort of about face movement and started back down the stairs.
" Where are you going? We literally just got here."
Ellie said, still holding Sam.
"I'm going out to walk."
Jaiden half mumbled in reply
" Alright I guess..."
Ellie turned to go back into the apartment, when she heard Jaiden say one more thing:
" Please make sure Sam is alright."
"Okay I will."
Ellie looked down at Sam.
He was breathing but he looked so...
how could she describe it?
Dead.
How hard had that guy hit him? She took him in and laid him down on the couch. She looked at him again. There was dry blood caked on his face below his nose and smeared across his right cheek.
He looked pitiful.
She went to the kitchen, wet a rag, came back and cleaned the blood off Sam's face, not in a "loving mother" kind of way but in more of a " let's get this done so it's not awkward" kind of way.
