Long sleep in
I awoke to what I thought was the next day and walked out of my room, though it seemed smaller than i remembered. I walk out int the hall and there was my father, looking tired and weary. I walk up to him, and for some reason my chest feels heavy. I look down and scream as I see my body for the first time. Tiberius turns around, eyes wide and alert. He looks at me like he has seen a ghost. The darkness closes in on me again as I see my father crying.I wake up, the room is the same and as I walk out, Tiberius is standing there waiting for me. "Welcome back to the land of the awakened Natasha, it has been many years since I have seen you." I look at him, like he is a mad man but then I also realize, I don't have to look up to see him. I dare to have another look at myself and I see I have reached 'maturity'. I look back at Tiberius and say "What happened to me?"
He explains it all, how I did not wake up one morning and how he got the priests to try and wake me by going into my dreams, he also got people from the arcane tower to do the same, but, no matter how powerful the dweomer or if it was arcane or divine, could wake me from my slumber. "They said there was another presence stopping all intrusions into your mind, and that it was a very powerful being" he looks past me, lost in thought. I look behind me but there is just a empty hall. I look at him and snap my fingers in front of Tiberius's face a few times. He snaps back into reality after a while then says "you have been asleep for two years, and in that time you have... grown, you have also been saying weird words and melting the floorboards with acid dripping from your hands.
Also you seem to be able to grow" "Claws" I finish for him as I look to my hand, where my skin has turned to scales of brass, and talons about 4 inches long on each of my fingers, or should I call them claws, grow and take form. I look at them, mesmerized that my hand/claw was of both amazing beauty and of absolute torment on whoever or whatever I use them on. Tiberius continues on "We have also had a multitude of people come in from outlining villages and towns, some even from the coast, with tales of a mysterious plague of creatures that kills everything and everyone there, but leaves no trace of the bodies. We call this the rising tide, for when it comes, it is like a tidal wave and cannot be stopped" I look him in the eye and I see a fire there that thirsts to stop the evil in our lands, but without the holy zeal of a paladin thank Nethys. I have the same thing running through my head. "I best go get re-acquainted with the militia then." I say as I turn around to leave. He shakes his head and says "No Natasha, you must go to the tower of the arch-mage to get yourself certified as a magic user first" I roll my eyes, and I think to myself as I wander on my way, what could life as a sorcerer have install for me.
