The snatcher

The snatcher
I go in and curtsy, knowing the stories when others have not. I stand in front of a man with short cropped brown hair, medium height. He has an almost hungry smile and it takes all my will not to back up.
"Hello," He says "What is your name?"
"Georgia," I say keeping my eyes on the ground with my head up.
"Georgia can cook, clean, sew and sing very well," says the lady. He looks me up and down as if judging me. His gaze lingers on my not so small breasts.
"I would like to hear her sing," so I do I sing Nightingale  I hate that I have to sing for him but I try to enjoy it. He looks slightly awestruck. "Thank you for that beautiful song," and I know, in 3 days I'm gone with them.

I leave the room and return to the bedroom, and sit down. Everyone is silent... Then one of the smaller girls asks in a timid voice
"Can you sing to us," I nod I sing  A Thousand miles.

Everyone remains silent and no one moves. One has a tear in her eye and I stop just sitting while we all look around alone, in our thoughts

20minutes later
"Result, they want 3 of you," Says the Lady. "Georgia, Calli (picture)  and Laura," I stop breathing for a few seconds, and Calli both look the same.
"Well you better get packed now, because we dont have much time, only 3 days till they pick you up, you dont need much," so I pack
- An extra hoody
- Pair of trainers
- A book
- A purse with a very small amount of money in
- A knife
I kept the knife hidden for ages because I dont want to cause trouble or harm, but soon I might have to because I certainly dont want to become a slave.
