The Task
"Walk up the stairs to receive your task," The voice tells me. I nod and look for the stairs. I see a long line of stairs leading up onto a huge golden cloud, lined with silver."Thankyou," I say gratefully. I start my way up the stairs.
"Hello?" I question doubtfully. I see a boy, around my age, maybe a bit older, 18 perhaps.
"Name?" He asks as if he's had to do this a million times, which he probably has.
"Stephania Glaydon," I reply. The boy pulls out a scroll from thin air. He sighs before looking through it.
"Hmm..." I stand there, waiting. I wonder what one must pay for attempting to kill their best friend. "Ah ha, Stephania Glaydon, here you are," I stand there, eagerly awaiting my task. "Oh, this is a good one,"
"Good for me? Or good for you to watch?" I ask.
"One of the two," He replies.
"Thanks for nailing it down," I grumble.
"Look, do you want your task, or not,"
"Fine, I'll shut up,"
"Good, anyway, your task, we will send you back down, you will be you in the past but will know everything about now, you must stop yourself from ever meeting Dominick Eyekon, and to not get corrupted by money and greed,"
"What?! I wasn't corrupt-"
"We will send you down in three hours exactly, I hope you're ready," I nod reluctantly. I feel horrible. Not meeting Dominick, will be horrible. He was my best friend for numerous years.
