Why Doesn't He Fly
"Lord Pocheco!!!" Comes Tyler's loud, yet soft voice. "I have alerted the council of Damian not continuing!" He adds. I gaze at Tyler's outspread wings as he flies effortlessly towards us, my eyes wander over to Eli's folded up wings. I know this is my first day here, but I've never seen Eli fly. I shake my head, discarding the thought. I stop and my surroundings are nebulous for a split second."Thank you Tyler, now please, come and land, you'll tire if you fly for too long," Eli orders.
"You kidding? I could fly all through the night!" Tyler tells us.
"Tyler!"
"Fine, ruin my fun, just because you can't fly!" Tyler yells. My eyes widen. Eli can't fly?! I look at Eli's wings again. In stories and fable, every angel could fly, Dominick used to talk about how all stereotypes were true and we just didn't know it, I guess Eli is living, no sorry, dead prove, that stereotypes are complete nonsense.
"Damn it Tyler, do you realize what you just said??" Eli asks angrily, yet quietly. Tyler lays his eyes on me and they widen.
"S-sorry Lord Pocheco!" Eli glares at Tyler, scaring Tyler half to death. Then he relaxes, places his hands in his pockets and turns his head to where I am standing, his turquoise blue eyes look into my crystal blue.
"It's alright, she would have found out anyway," He looks like he wants to smile, but he doesn't.
"Lord Pocheco, remember the rules!" Tyler says quickly.
"I am aware of what I can and can't do," Rules?! What rules?
"You know Stephania, you're probably the first client who isn't already in tears because of their death," Tyler tells me softly, with a hint of amusement in voice. I want to cry, I want to cry till my eyes hurt, but I know this is what I get for the bad I did. I was never that close to my family anyway, don't get me wrong, I do love my family, just not as much as other people like theirs.
"Whatever," I mumble. Tyler crosses his arms and pretends to be upset.
"So rude," He mocks. I smile for the first time today, well it's not really toDAY anymore. It's dark with the stars showing us where we are.
"I don't think it's me who has to be reminded of the rules," Eli says coldly.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Lord Pocheco, but don't those rules only apply to mentors?" Eli is about to argue, but instead nods and gazes at the flo - cloud. Silence hangs between us.
"Would one of you tell me what the rules are?" I ask eventually.
"Sure!" Tyler says happily.
